of course it was scripted. It's a demo.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterWhat I meant is, such a thing won't actually be possible and was only done because the devs planned for it, or the game expects you to do all what happened and nothing else (like you HAVE to manipulate the lights or he gets away and the cars always crash the same way)

that's a good question and which is why I'm probably going to wait a week or two before thinking about buying this game.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterWouldn't be the first time my hopes have been dashed again.
this is why it's best to never be hopeful.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterI think it's going to give you the option, but eventually everyone will just get sic of setting up elaborate elctronic traps and just shoot everything.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Without hope, what are we?

No one noticed/liked my joke
^^immune to hype.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterAnd what are we without hype?
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/A miserable pile of...not hype.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project-recompetant. But no hypertension, so it's not all bad.
It impressed me, purely on aesthetic. Though I liked a lot of other things do. Who doesn't want to drop cars like that?

This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.People who are appropriately excited for things happening in the present.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterMan, people got hyped too much and not keeping things in perspective..no wonder...they practically turn themselves into Archer...
Anyway, looks darn intersting...
Give me cute or give me...something?Danger zooooooooooone!
Seriously, I did start experiencing the demo version of Fridge Logic after a while. I started worrying about the scripting when I realised the gunfight segued into a cutscene. My guess is that like Thorn said you're FORCED to mess with the lights at that juncture or in the finished product that will be replaced by a somewhat less cinematic in gameplay sequence.
I also wonder if you can do the scan thing for EVERYONE in the city. They're definitely NOT going to make everyone look unique but it would be hilarious to walk around scanning everyone you meet, suddenly find a guy with "PEDOPHILE" or "MULTIPLE RAPE CHARGES" on the gizmo and randomly punch him

That should be an achievement.
Vigilante: Punish all who fall under your purview.
Class Warfare: Sucker punch 20 people with an income over 100k.

Traffic director.
Trigger the lights at every intersection
This looks fairly promising.
I'm just kind of disappointed that I apparently have uber-hacker skills and I still have to resort to a shootout. Like your technomancy is just meant to let you do the usual GTA stuff, with perhaps a bit more style.
Obviously in the demo they wanted to show both sneaky bits and action bits. The first part is sneaky, the second part (once you break out) is action-heavy. Assassin's Creed can also be played both ways, so I don't think this sheds bad light on Watch_Dogs.
I'm very positively surprised by this trailer and would really like some raw gameplay with a bit of developer exposition in the background, but I think this game is going to take a while until release. It incorporates a lot of things I was missing in DXHR tho, so fingers crossed the devs can learn from what Eidos' mistakes and what they did right. I already like the character the protagonist talked to, I hope the actual story gets good writing, too. You can do a lot of ~deep~ stuff with Cyberpunk-ish settings if you know how to do it.
I wonder how much of the demo will be scripted in the final game. I hope it'll be a bare minimum. Multipathing made DXHR's gameplay so fun.

I don't care if it's scripted, I still might get it because it looked pretty cool and unique.

Watch SymphogearThing I'm wondering is why this game doesn't have a Trope page yet (I know, only been at the most a day since announcement), but I did see a few different tropes.
Also, I read on Kotaku that it'll be for "X Box, Playstation and PC" (Can't remember if it's for Wii-U). Note they never added "360" or a 3 to the end of the first two.
My bet? Either it'll be out this generation, or it'll be delayed for the new consoles.
It's not that surprising, Far Cry 3 has a single sentence in the Far Cry page despite the veritable onslaught of info we're getting.
Besides, exactly what would the content be? "The game follows Aiden Pierce (maybe) who is capable of hacking into anything and kills a digital artist because...of reasons."

they mentioned the reason at the start of the demo. He solicited a murder and got away with it.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen Fry
I'm starting to wonder if this was all just scripted now.
