There are Tvtropes visitors from all over the world, translators working on patches, and people who can read Japanese, and can run Japanese programs. You should ask the tropers who made the page how they accessed it, they would know far more then us.

Earlier I brought up the "If nobody can access it, why don't we cut it" argument in the main discussion thread and people said that it was not the right path of action. I don't see why we should handle it differently here. If we can't access it, but will be able to in the near future, what harm could be done waiting to confirm there accusations. Our only two pieces information is that yes, the characters do appear young in some parts of the novel, and yes, some characters have sex scenes, but here is an excerpt from wikipedia:

  • The story of Baldr Sky revolves around the male protagonist Kou Kadokura (門倉甲 Kadokura Kō?) and is told through two timelines, the present and the past through flashbacks.
And one from T Vtropes:
  • He later realizes that he had just suffered a brain injury and lost his memories of the past few years.

In other words, the charaters underage scenes and sex scenes have a very strong chance of having no overlap, due to there having been years inbetween the past, and present timelines. You are not a pedophile for having sex with someone who was your childhood friend, right? Moreso, waayy back in the infancy of the thread, equally valid evidence to the above confirmation said that the underage characters do not overlap with the sex scenes.

@Arha Thank you for understanding!

There were sexualized nude images of a little girl-like character. That's why I voted devil already. That's why I don't see any reason to wait until somebody bothers to actually play all the "dives" or whatever. Remember, the game will still exist even after the TV Tropes page is cut.

Wasn't this brought up in the Saya no Uta discussion, and it was found that the "little girl like" build that Saya had was shared by a certain middle-aged actress, as well as some other people who were definitely of age or something? Stylism becomes an issue. I still maintain the simple fact that none of the characters are depicted as being underage while having sex. It's not as superficial as an "All characters within are over 18" disclaimer chucked onto the startup screen, they are firmly established as being of age by the game's own timeline of events. But don't take me at my word if you don't want to, just wait for the game to be translated (which it is in the process of being at the moment) and judge when more people are capable of playing the game itself and verifying.

[up]saya no uta was also a lovecraftian horror story.

[up][up][up]I think what people are going on abut now is whether or not the underage sex is in all of the games or just one.

@ post 179: Well, in anime, grown women are drawn with at least what, in the real world, would be a D cup. Art style is a major factor. Given that the characters are drawn with secondary sexual characteristics, we cannot assume that they are underage without taking the works art style into account.

[up]Generalization at best. Not all grown women get balloon tits slapped on them. And I cannot say it happens often enough for it to be taken as a measuring stick. Things like character archetypes et cetera are also considerations in what affects physical design.

[down]They're in the same universe, but other than that they're not related. That would be like redirecting Gundam 0083 to the War in the Pocket page.

Way I see it, at least as an interim measure, redirect to the Baldr Force EXE Resolution OVA series and when we have enough data to make a decision, take action accordingly.

[down]@Kuro: In the link provided it is listed as the same series as Baldr Sky Dive1. Close enough, I say.

I don't speak Japanese, but I have a Windows 7 64-bit computer. If someone provides the necessary instructions and links, I can go through this and at least give an opinion on the art. I could get to it this weekend or next week.

[up][up][up] Likely adequate, but the animation is by a totally different studio.

Cutting it is certainly a bit too much, but locking it would prove to be far more then adequate at the moment.

[up][up] Technically, the works are in the same universe, but according to the trope pages, and wikipedia, there is no reason to assume that their plots are somehow related. The same universe deal could be counted as a excuse for a cross comparison.

@184: I wouldn't call that a good idea, since the tutorials for combat gameplay segements and the gameplay interface itself would be incomprehensible, as well as the game text information and route decision branching points, leading to pretty much what would amount to stumbling around in the dark not being able to figure out how to progress. It's not as simple as clicking through the text until one reaches the end, since there are both multiple decision selection plot branching points as well as points where the plot branches based on your actions and performance in the gameplay segments.

There is a translation that has the tutorial and exposition translated. I do not know if they have it in patch form, but you never know.

Basically, wandering into the game now would only be able to prove the games guilt (If a sex scene appears in the tutorial, with an underage character, for example,) not its innocence. We could never say that we covered everything without a full patch, or someone who can fluently read Japanese.

I'm staring at links to of Dive 1 of Baldr Sky right now. I also found a translation project of the VN into English that's about 30% of the way through. It might be the one [up] is talking about. Granted, the only visual novels I've played are that one that 4chan made (Katawa Shoujo—it's...interesting for lack of a better word), Tsukihime, and Fate/stay night, and all with the sex scenes off. Unless Nocturna really wants to do this, I can play the game to spare her.

Then again, if that underage child is really from the game and not from fan art, I really don't see an excuse not to cut.

[up]No translation patch exists yet. The translation that is ongoing has translated the combat tutorials and one of the six routes, but nothing has been released yet. And the translator has expressed on The Imageboard that must Not be Named that he is against releasing partial translations, and would prefer to release a complete game translation patch.

And once again, none of the characters are underage in sex scenes.

And a slight tangent, but I was under the impression that there is currently no way to turn off the H-scenes in Fate/stay night.

[down]In my experience, setting one's PC to use Japanese locale for non-Unicode programs guarantees better computability than using App Locale. There are multiple V Ns that I am aware of that do not work correctly with App Locale, but do with proper Japanese locale.

[up][up] Others have had the game crash on start up. You will almost certainly need applocale to run it. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13209
It only works on windows XP, and windows 7 from my experience.

I volunteer to dumpster dive, given that a good 5-6 years ago I could read Japanese, so I might be able to gather a two year old's comprehension of what happens past the tutorial (I Will most definitely be able to read the numbers though.)

[up] People seem to refuse to buy that. This is why we should shelf this discussion until the translation is out.

@182: If they're in a shared universe but otherwise unrelated, it would be more like redirecting both Kara No Kyoukai and Kagetsu Tohya to Nasuverse (the former, a complete story, currently has its own page while the latter, a sort-of-sequel to Tsukihime, redirects to that work's page). In any event, we've already used a similar solution by redirecting Living With Monster Girl to Daily Life with Monster Girl.

The characters aren't underage. In their profiles, they're stated to be one year younger than the game's protagonist.
