Man, the Crash Bandicoot games were some of the first ones I ever owned. I played everything up through Crash Bash, but after that I felt like the quality started to slide a bit. The first few games were awesome though.
Reaction Image RepositoryI never played any of the PS 1 Crash games as a kid. I played the demos on on Spyro and a demo disk I had but I never played them until much later. I did play the ps2 games as well as the reboot games, which weren't as good but most of them weren't completely bad. Though Twinsanity's soundtrack is fantastic.
I also played that Crash and Spyro crossover game on GBA which was a massive disappointment.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013Wrath of Cortex might be my favorite of the games besides the first one, but I'm well aware I'm in the deep minority on that one.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Wow, that Crash cartoon thing was so... Cheesy.
Wrath of Cortex was okay but very flawed. The aesthetics felt kinda cheap and un-Crash like and the platforming, while a bit more expanded than Warped, wasn't as consistent in quality. Half the vehicles were fun to play as, but the others were utterly tedious (and those rail bars, ragghhh...). And once again Coco was falsely advertised as a fully playable character. I was hoping she'd be switchable with Crash, but instead we get half a dozen levels of 'Crash but weaker'.
I liked a lot of levels in Wrath of Cortex though, and I'd love to see the beta get released one day with it's unused more wide open levels (that on foot version of "Ice Station Bandicoot" in particular looks cool).
I was kinda disappointed though, the ending looked like it was all setup for Crunch to be this cool new powerhouse to play as the next game, and yet it never happened. In fact the Crash series tends to suck in terms of other playable characters.

Sadly not an announcement, but it seems someone mistakingly thought Crash Bandicoot was back (not sure who they are, but judging by reactions it seems someone newsworthy).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWxuIEVSwSs - a video showing the initial line
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lafmy3vyWnE - a video explaining that he apparently saw fake box art cover. The Youtube comments are skeptical, but honestly I wouldn't blame them with an iconic character being mentioned as active, it'd be hard to just willfully abandon that.
I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uniIt was the boss of a toy company that's making a bunch of Playstation figures. He was listing some of the characters that are getting figures, and during that he said, paraphrased "I heard Crash Bandicoot is coming back too." After that he said he'd seen fan art of a return before the event and said that if Crash was coming back, he'd love to make toys. Backpedalling, or misquoted? Who knows.
There was also the Playstation Middle East Twitter account posting this◊ earlier this month. The text apparently translates to "Most Wanted: Where are you Crash?" I don't know if this is true or not, but I've also heard that Crash was considered as a guest skater for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 and developer Robomodo expressed interest, but Activision said no, citing "Rights and timing", whatever that means in this context.
It's entirely possible that now we're getting perpetually rumoured games like Shenmue 3, The Last Guardian and the Final Fantasy VII remake, a new Crash Bandicoot game is taking their place as the go-to rumour everyone wants to see that will almost certainly never happen. I hope not, simply because all these teases are toying with my emotions and I want to know one way or the other if something is happening or not. Maybe it's an extended period of seeing if there is interest for a new game?

Cortex should take a 12-step plan off a 10-step pierIt's by an Onion site, if that helps at all.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHTHIS IS THE BEST CRASH BANDICOOT-RELATED NEWS IN YEARS!
Crash Bandicoot is appearing in a new Naughty Dog game! Warning, the link has minor spoilers for Uncharted 4.
The reason this is such a big deal is because this isn't a mere emulation of the original game. Crash's 3D model has new animations, a timer has been added at the top of the screen in the original game's font, and the camera's been zoomed out a bit. And the thing is, the Crash games have fixed camera. The backgrounds don't really extend past the edges of the screen. Which means Naughty Dog had to have rebuilt all the original graphics from the ground up. Here's the Crash Mania article about it.

I've got Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash, Spyro, and Paper Mario fanfics. It would seem that the credits of Uncharted 4 don't mention anything about the rights to Crash Bandicoot being owned by Activison. Which either means Sony has the rights back, or Activision's about to slap them with a heck of a lawsuit.
Spoilers for an Uncharted 4 easter egg, kinda.
I've got Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash, Spyro, and Paper Mario fanfics. All of my YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS!
Wait, so they're actually making a new Crash game? Jesus H. Carpenter, 2016 is the best year ever. First Psychonauts 2 was announced, then Ratchet & Clank got a new entry, and now this.
Well, that's the impression I'm getting from this thread, anyhow. Is it going to be a remake of the original game? I hope so. I'd rip my heart out for these people if they brought back all the classic bosses who haven't appeared in decades.
"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."Imagine how gorgeous it would look with Naughty Dog's current Engine.
Watch SymphogearPlease don't suck, and don't come with a mediocre film that leads to the game's story being inconsistent like the new Ratchet & Clank.
Lex Lang is now backpedaling and saying he's not voicing Cortex in a new game. However, seeing as Cortex is the ONLY "doctor" character he hasn't voiced in a while, he couldn't really be "reviving" any other doctor character like he said. Here's a post about it.
He's probably lying so as not to violate an NDA.
I've got Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash, Spyro, and Paper Mario fanfics. Here's hoping.
This person maintains that Activision still has the Crash rights. HOWEVER, if this is true, it doesn't explain why the heck Uncharted 4 doesn't mention Activision at all in the credits.
It's possible that Naughty Dog only has the rights to their Crash games (the original trilogy and CTR) and are free to remake them but not make new games altogether, and the new Crash game that Lex Lang teased will be made by Activision, or maybe Lang is simply being brought in to redub Cortex's lines for an HD remake, since the old PS 1 games' dialogue didn't have very good audio quality.
Though personally I'm hoping this person is just lying about it. It's possible that they're not allowed to officially SAY Sony has the Crash rights until some sort of major announcement or something.
Or it could be a "Spider-Man: Homecoming" situation where Activision still has the rights but they're allowing Naughty Dog to make new games for them.

I've got Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash, Spyro, and Paper Mario fanfics.Argh, does the universe just enjoy mocking us Crash fans by giving us false hopes and then dashing them?
Wrath of Cortex is weird for me. I played it, and it felt like a Crash Bandicoot game, but it felt like there was something missing, or something not quite right.
But on the other hand, they had a unique soundtrack for every level (or at least, the first 25), and there were some really good ones in there.
But on the other other hand, I had the PS 2 version, and the loading times were downright offensive.
I played the games that came after, but I didn't like Twinsanity at all, I rented it long enough to finish it, but was never tempted to buy. Played Crash of Titans and Mind over Mutant, and they have the Skylander's issue.
A completely different concept that has Crash Bandicoot figures on it to pull in fans from that franchise. It was ok, but it wasn't Crash Bandicoot.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.
