I recall Dick dropped out of college because of his Nightwing duties.
Superheroes never wind up looking bruised unless the plot calls for it, so it’s never been a problem that’s come up for them.
Tom King confirmed on a podcast that Batman/Catwoman will be a direct sequel to Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, which is now considered official canon to the Rebirth timeline.
We knew going in that the Phantasm was going to be the villain, but the fact the entire film is now part of official mainline DC lore is kind of nice...also makes me suspect Selina and Bruce will be engaged again seeing as Phantasm was the first woman Bruce proposed to
Wow, this is just. Killing my desire for that comic in every way.
I adore Mask of The Phantasm, but I never once wanted it to be canon. It’s perfect in its own little context. Does this mean Joker is now canonically just a mob hitman? Was Gotham vaguely in the 1940s while Bruce was getting started as Batman? Did Andrea almost murder Joker for what he did before he became Joker?
I just. I do not get how you could just slot that film into the comics. It only works in its own context, and even making a sequel to it feels almost wrong to me. It had a perfect ending. Anything more would just be a disappointment, especially if King is going to compare Andi to Selina. He already did that with Talia, which came across as fairly sexist.
Remember the time where Bane suspected that he and Batman were half-brothers? It amuses me and reminds me on how they try to make Batman's brother as canon as possible. Owlman is Thomas Wayne Jr, Lincoln March is claiming to be his brother. I feel we should see someone trying to posthumously put Thomas Wayne Sr on Maury Povich by claiming to be his lovechild.
On the podcast, King says the Joker stuff will be kept vague to maintain the mystery surrounding his origins.

But if you maintain the mystery around Joker’s origins, then Andrea Beaumont doesn’t make sense. She became the Phantasm because her father was killed by the mob. One of her targets was Joker because he used to be a mob hitman. Her entire final confrontation with Bruce revolves around her trying to kill Joker for the role he played in her father’s death.
If you remove that origin for Joker, there’s no reason for Andrea to target him. It breaks the story.
Basically its "We want to use this character cause their popular" and are gonna port over a sterilized version to make it work
Its like what happened with Kaldur or Artemis Crook
Really you should be upset that Andrea is gonna be used as Selena Fodder to push the Whole one True WUV nonsense that is the Bat-Cat relationship
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!Oh trust me, I am. There’s a good reason why no other Batman love interests are even referenced in Mask Of The Phantasm. It’s because the work treats Andrea as Bruce’s one true love. The minute you put her next to another love interest of his, it becomes a competition or a way to prove that one is “better” than the other by the author.
Which, if I’m being honest, is a pretty sexist way to depict women.
And like. Tom King did this to Talia too. It’s really not something I’m happy about.

Is it any worse than Amanda Waller recruiting Phantasm to kill Terry's parents to recreate Batman?
I wasn’t too keen on that either, but at least it makes sense that Andrea is herself a hitman now. Bringing her back just to go “See? Selina is even better for Bruce than the “perfect woman” from that really good movie you’re nostalgic for!”
There are many reasons why Epilogue is such a controversial episode.
Opinions on Epilogue are still very divided, but it could have been so much worse.
TL;DR: Bruce Timm's first idea was to have Terry being a clone of Bruce (amongst many other) created by Catwoman.
Bite my shiny metal ass. That wasn't his best point in general, wasn't it? Either way, it hurts.

Wake me up at your own risk.Batman#76
Selina somehow manages to transport her and Bruce from the Himalayas to Paris, Bruce remains unconscious while Selina rips off art galleries to pay for his medical bills. She promises Bruce not to steal again if he wakes up. Meanwhile Gotham Girl beats up Captain Atom and Tim and Damian have an argument on the roof. Despite being on the cover, Bane is a no-show
Was it really necessary for Gotham Girl to embarrass Atom like that when he explicitly showed up to help. It's not like he was being a military stooge or anything (he said he was there because the orders were bullshit). That was really hard to look at, and I'm not even a huge Captain Atom fan.
One Strip! One Strip! The preview pages for Catwoman this week look like a lot of fun, a filler tale, it connects Selina more with King's run as she pines a bit for Bruce and is hired by someone who also left a loved one out of sentiment.
that looks really bad
And apparently, he's gonna get a new name. Of course, he went around calling himself Red Robin, so brace yourselves.
Wake me up at your own risk. The brown makes me think he's gonna go with Sparrow.
How would everyone summarize the "Death of the Family" story arc to someone vaguely familiar with the Bat-mythos?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Okay, so Batman had this second Robin after the first grew up, but the Joker beat him with a crowbar and left him to die in an exploding warehouse, because Robin Number 2's mother was working for the Joker. Also The Joker became the ambassador of Iraq to the U.N.
Oh wait, Wrong story, Joker launches his greatest attack on the Batfamily, after failing to find the face of John Travolta, and teases that he might know who Batman is, while being super OP. That's how i would describe it to people who have a passing knowledge, because this story, is Scott Snyder just fanboying over the Joker. I mean, i personally consider the Joker to be my favorite villain of all time, but this story took it way to far and made him boring. Scott Snyder is a really good writer but he always had a problem when it came to the Joker, at least at first, and was way better working with original villains like James Gordon Jr or the Court of Owls.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.
I wonder if nightly duties as Robin as ever hurt their social life? Wouldn't showing up to school beaten up because of guys like Two-Face or Joker make people think Bruce is the one who beats him up?
