^^ If they’re that gun-ho about it, it’s probably best to leave that page then. Social media is rarely a place where nuance thrives.

The alternative would be to remind them that the Bible is inherently paradoxical, especially in the modern age, and there are as many passages proclaiming to necessity to love everyone equally regardless of who they are as there are passages saying anyone who doesn’t believe in God/Yahweh are condemned to hell, and as such you can support the LGBTQ community and still be a Christian who chooses to focus on the former (loving everyone equally) than the latter.

The other alternative is to simply not bring up religion unless someone directly asks you, and otherwise ignore it when someone’s bashing Christianity on that page. Whether or not that’s exactly fair I’ll leave up to you.

Edit: For what it’s worth, I’m not saying they’re in the wrong. I can’t speak to their experiences with religion, and given some of the horror stories out there I can’t blame them in the slightest for despising Christianity, but sometimes there’s things in life that aren’t really worth causing drama over and are best left alone, and religion tends to be one of those things anyway, but especially in this case.

Associated Press: Major Christian denominations fracturing over LGBT+ pastors and same-sex marriage. Basically, this is an overview news article touching on how various (non-Catholic) churches are dealing with the question of same-sex marriage, specifically by splitting. A major issue slowing acceptance is that right now, Christianity's fastest growth areas are in African countries that haven't caught up on accepting homosexuality (and while the article doesn't say that, a lot of the worst hate has been sown there by these very churches and their missionaries, so now the churches are reaping what they've sown). Progressive churches are facing schisms, while regressive ones are cutting ties with individual churches that won't toe the line but are mostly holding together.

The end of the article notes that right now this fight seems to be a Christianity issue. I'd argue that that's because right now, Christian denominations are the main religious grouping to have the kind of hierarchy and authority that make schisms a thing in the first place, aside from Muslim countries (and the latter, as opposed to Muslims in the west, are pretty uniformly against LGBT rights).

I despise hypocrisy, unless of course it is my own.
