The Toonami Thread

I loved it. T His half of the season is has insanely good episodes.

Although, I feel the need to point out the whole "obvious Jewish analogue = giant monsters" thing makes people uncomfortable. Which is understandable.

Though considering how it's used, and the overall themes of the show, I don't agree with the notion that some people hold Isayama is making some political statement in support of fascism and/or anti-Semitism (although, he does apparently hold some questionable views about Imperial Japan).

July 11th. Demarco says he'll announce the show that will replace SAO next weekend on July 12th's Pre-Flight.

July 12th. Pre-Flight is replaced with two reruns of Game Humpers because Demarco is on vacation.

"Jewish-analogue used to rule the world" is also blundering head on into some very unfortunate implications.

Doing analogues for cultures other than your own can often be tricky.

Though we actually have no idea how true that's supposed to be. Marley is a propaganda machine, and Grisha could barely read any of those ancient texts.

The anime removed it so lets be clear The Owl himself says its likely somewhere in the middle. If the Eldians did commit the atrocities mentioned nonstop there wouldn't be any Marleyans left so clearly that one is far from the truth, but he also makes clear Grishas idealized version is unrealistic itself because even if when they used Titans to help Eldia prosper it was at other peoples expense.

Right forgot.

But he does say, "I'm the Owl," after throwing the Sergeant Major over the rampart.

He says he's the Owl, yes, but his actual name is significant as (major spoilers for manga/future season 4 stuff) Eren's namesake and later pseudonym while infiltrating Marley as a rogue agent.

Reiterating from its original thread, Fire Force is coming to Toonami on July 27th at 12am EST.

According to DeMarco, the broadcasting deal was made before the tragic Kyoto Animation incident, and David Production's halt on the series' original broadcast schedule for the time being. He claims that Toonami will deal with any possible delays or cancellations on their end.

Schedule's still the same otherwise.

Shit this is like the best animated show this season, next to Vinland Saga.

Symphogear is better, imo, but that would be near impossible to dub.

Airing on toonami would be quite the mindscrew, though.

Well it be nice to also get Vinland Saga, the best show this season but alas Amazon already snatched it up.

What's there to elaborate? Nothing about it appeals to me, ergo, I'm lukewarm on it and the fact that it's airing on Toonami.

Beautifal sakuga animation though.

As to be expected of Davepro.

We should have gotten Nep Neps on Toonami instead.

I mean, we got Pop Team Epic, why not?

Toonami trends towards the Shonen (Jump). Moe shows and Moe Anthropomorph shows, be it Neptunia or something more like Kyo Ani's output fall outside that range, even Magical Girl shows seems unlikely despite Sailor Moon apparently airing on Toonami in the 90s.

Plus I think Toonami would trying to get new shows when they are more relevant or recent, the Neptunia anime, being a few years old at this point, would have low chances.

Double Attack on Titan tonight, including the season finale.

Actually I think they're just reairing last week's Attack on Titan for the other episode, so the finale will be next week.
