I really think you'd like Jaco more if you read his manga. It's very low-key and relaxing.
Red Hunter, come back to read this spoiler after you've watched Episode 69. (That's just a coincidence, I'm not trying to make a joke of the number). Actually, its a "filler" episode not connected to an arc, so you can watch it anytime you want.

Yes, as you can see, comedy manga characters are basically invincible.
What? Episode 69? Which one was that?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. You haven't been there yet, its after the Goku Black Saga.

So for some reason, I decided to watch Bojack unbound.
Pretty decent movie. I loved the premise of the intergalactic tournament and the cast participating in it. Bojack and his goons were pretty generically evil, and I have no idea why they were on Earth. Are they even space pirates? King Kai called them demons who just genocided for fun, there's no robbery mentioned. They REALLY have nothing in common with the Heeters.
Oh, and I guess some antics from Mr. Satan was kinda funny, but I vastly prefer his Buu saga and beyond self.
I think the parts I enjoyed most were the cast competing at the start, the setting, Goku encouraging Gohan, and the action was well animated.
I have no idea why the fuck the Earthlings thought Mr. Satan saved the day, when the cameras saw Gohan turn Super Saiyan 2 and just beat the shit out of Bojack. Status quo I guess.
Stupid question, but why the hell did Bojack kill his token female minion when trying to kill Gohan?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Because evil.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYeah. Pretty much because evil.
Edit: Also, Satan accidentally destroyed all the cameras before Gohan went Super Saiyan, so nobody saw the kid win the fight.

One Strip! One Strip!Yeah they are evil, but why Earth exactly? Heck why even hijack the tournament?

I guess. Like, maybe it was just the first place they came across.
One Strip! One Strip!Story needed conflict
I think they also suggest Earth is prime real estate
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHuh from dragon ball common knowledge.
- It's often claimed by fans that the villains for the Android Saga were originally intended to Android 19 and Dr Gero, only to then be changed to 17 and 18 due to Executive Meddling, and then again to Cell after his editor was left dissatisfied. While the part about them being changed due to complaints is true, it wasn't Toriyama's then-current editor Yu Kondo who had him change the identity of the Big Bad, but his close friend and previous editor Kazuhiko Torishima, who personally called Toriyama to complain to him about his follow-up to Freiza being "a fat guy and a geezer", then again to complain about their replacements 17 and 18 being "a pair of brats". Kondo was the one who pushed for Toriyama to change Cell's design to Perfect Cell, but he had nothing to do with the more radical changes in direction the story took.
No, they don’t mention anything about Earth’s value. They are there just because, I guess.

There's an interesting bit I wish they explored, and that's how Gohan lived in the years right after Goku died.
There's a line from Chi-Chi about how she wanted Gohan to participate in the tournament because even SHE was worried about how much he was studying and she's even cheering him on.
It's wholesome but if Gohan's in a state of mind that he's worrying Chi-Chi because of studying too much, and that he's actually getting into fighting for fun, then I think Gohan has some grieving he's going through.
Like a big part of this movie is him being worried about living up to Goku. This of course was before the Buu Saga. Which means Gohan's fears of not living up to his dad's example are completely correct.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Torishima apparently influenced Doctor Mashirito in Dr. Slump. Read their names carefully...
His editor did his job, I think we know that.
But most people ignore it because it doesn't come up often enough in interviews to be regurgitated frequently.
People only quote the Android arc shenanigans because it's the most notable thing...it's only notable though because Torishima wasn't his editor "at the time" and people often leave out that part as well.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I actually read how after the first arc. It was Torishima's idea to scale down the cast and focus on action and martial arts after declining sales from the end of 1. The tournament arc being something they came up together..
Like their wouldn't even be a series without the guy if not for That.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Wish it was in Toriyama's nature to scale down the cast...genuinely.
Characters coming back and them all hanging out in the anniversary specials would be way more "special".
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Functionally the cast is trimmed down, the characters who actually matter in fights are counted with the fingers of a hand. Everyone else are just leftovers of nostalgia and-or background comedy. Something like Bleach or Naruto feels more overstuffed because there they at least try to pretend most of the fighters matter, even when for the most part they don't.
Okay, changing things up a bit to read the Grand prisoner Moro saga.
I legit don’t know anything about this, other than Buu gets to be relevant for a bit.
I heard Moro is one of the best villains Dragon Ball has had in a while.
Gah, the name is spelled Boo here.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Yep. Vizz translated it as Djinn Boo. Which is so weird.
