Well yeah, what I'm getting at is that maybe don't take everything Vegeta says as fact. Maybe Nappa has a genetic condition that makes him bald like we humans have.

Vegeta definitely has an idealised* view of what the Saiyans were.

• Idealised according the values he had while working under Freiza.

The pods are implied to use some kind of "cold sleep" system, so that could have prevented functions like hair growth if it's a cryostasis deal.

That or Nappa could have had his hair removed by laser which would prevent regrowth.

Honestly, some of this stuff about Saiyans seems like things Toriyama came up with so that he wouldn't need to bother with thinking about certain things.

Which did work for him. It's entirely the reason we have Super Saiyan.

So....can anyone remind me why Goku and Vegeta couldn't stop Kid Buu's Super Vanishing Ball from destroying Earth? Like, was it because they couldn't handle his ball and repel it?

Yes.

Its honestly a pretty good example of how Ki attacks and just raw power level aren't always the same. Hypothetically, MAYBE Super Saiyan 3 Goku is physically stronger then Kid Buu, if we didn't have the energy drain issue. But not strong enough to push back the Vanishing Ball.

It's also a nice reminder that while Kid Buu is weaker than Super Buu, he's still more than worthy of being the final boss of Z.

It's like how Joker is Batman's most dangerous foe, but Bane is his strongest.

Ya know, the whole "Saiyans always have black hair" thing is pretty funny when later depictions of Vegeta keep giving him brown-ish hair. Hell, this aspect even carries over to Vegetto for some reason. I wonder what's up with that?

Okay, finished the filler episode with baby Pan. Wholesome, I loved the part where Goku tells his granddaughter that he'll take her traveling through the star even if it's a nod to GT.

Wait, is GT still going to happen in some form or what?

So baby Pan can fly and breathe in space? Total Mary Sue. But seriously, how come people can breath in space I never understood that?

They're not in space, they're breathing in Upper Atmosphere. Actual space starts way above the point where you see black.

Also I gotta say, even though I only saw some parts of Dragon Ball, it's always fun to see Pilaf and crew still try to get revenge on Goku despite the sheer futility of it.

You know the guy who skydived from space, Felix Baumgartner? See how high up he is, with the black sky? He's not actually in "space". It's still insane, he's 39 kilometers up (24 miles), but that's not literally space (if it was literal space, he wouldn't be falling, he would just float away).

The Troposphere stretches from the ground to 12 km up (7 miles). The Stratosphere stretches from there to 50 kilometers (31 miles). Meaning that skydive actually takes place right in the middle of the Stratosphere.

The Mesosphere stretches from there to 80 km (50 miles). And the Thermosphere stretches from there to 700 km (440 miles). And then there's the Exosphere that stretches from there to 10,000 km (6,200 miles), but some scientists don't even think that counts as part of the atmosphere.

When Dragon Ball characters fight in "space" they're most likely in the Stratosphere, where Felix dived from. The International Space Station orbits Earth in the Thermosphere, technically even that's not in "space".

Yeah, but Dragon Ball characters can bench-press planets, their lungs are Built Different.

Cause I don't remember a Baby Pan filler arc after that.

Though there was another story shortly after Goku Black was done that did have a small role for Pan.

It's the episode where Goku loses control of his ki right after the Tournament with Universe 6.
