I should point out that if we get an Android 21 story ever, we have to be prepared for her to potentially be a different character from what we saw in FighterZ.

Like, so far, the two characters who weren't created by Toriyama who made it to canon (Bardock and Broly) were massively overhauled (to Bardock's detriment, but Broly's benefit), and resemble their original incarnations in a Broad Strokes sense. Enough to say yeah, this is Bardock/Broly, but not the exact same one(s) from before.

21 will likely receive that same Toriyama alteration that those two did, and he'll do things his way.

I think you could honestly work with the game plot, well, maybe apart the evil soulless clones lol. Make the Earthling soul into some hapless Red Ribbon intern that got mixed up with an experiment, and use some kind of new androids instead of mindless clones. Granted you probably will have to do away with the villain side cause Freezer's busy and everyone else's dead?

One of my favorite bits of the FighterZ story was Cell being absorbed to make 21's ultimate form, because Perfect Cell believing he is the culmination of Gero's research only to become a stepping stone for Gero's wife is some really fun irony (plus I like the spots look).

Unfortunately that probably won't work in a canon version because of the different afterlife mechanics and because it would be way too soon after Cell Max. You could have 21 absorb some remnants of Cell Max for power, but it would still be lesser because Cell Max doesn't have Perfect Cell's arrogant personality.

Its easy to keep characters out of an android fight. Nobody can sense androids. Everyone not directly involved would be none the wiser.

Not to mention, Goku seems to really struggle against robots for some reason or another. So, you can safely leave him out of that story.

Was watching old Dragon Ball openings and I can't help but really like this one. Normally I think an opening like this would dismissed as a "generic 80s power ballad" but it really works combined with the melody.

Really? You don't think Super Hero needed to explain why Goku and Vegeta couldn't fix the plot.

The thing is, however, that Goku isn't going to ignore an android attack. Or the chance at having a good fight.

21 is closer to Cell than she is 17 or 18, and she has Majin cells in her too, and I don't recall the characters having trouble sensing her power at any point in Fighterz, so its not as if they can have her have an "invisible" power like 17 and 18 do.

I think Super Hero only really happened because Piccolo was trying to gaslight Gohan and infiltrated the base intentionally. If Goku or Vegeta are anywhere around the planet, or if Piccolo had decided to just start blastin instead of trying to lure Gohan there, that fight wouldn't have stayed as contained.

I wonder how Black Freeza will be resolved. My theory is that Beast Gohan is on the same ballpark as Freeza, but knowing this series, they might shoehorn another transformation for Goku to catch up.

I mean, that's literally how this series has functioned for decades now: transformation arms races. I'd like for Toriyama/Toei/Toyotaru/whoever to try something a little different, but I doubt they will.

I think the only one who is dismissing Makafushigi Adventure as generic is you, ironically enough, I know you intended to praise it but you put it down slightly to prop it up later ironically enough.

I know this sounds really rude but you can praise something without assuming what other people think.

Not really, tbh. "Why couldn't X character fix the whole story?" reactions tend to be more Fridge Logic, whereas most viewer tend not to care about that sort of thing. If anything, putting a lot of focus onto explaining why Goku and Vegeta aren't there to save the day just reinforces the idea that the other characters can't handle anything without them.

It's the same answer for stuff like "why can't Superman swoop into Gotham and stop Joker's gas the city plot" or something: because he was busy, because someone's already taking care of it, etc, etc. Most times, an explanation isn't even necessary at all, and if it is it's easy to do it quickly.

That said, in Super Hero on the other hand, the fact that Gohan is so far gone that Piccolo doesn't even think of him in a crisis is a plot point, and a part of why Piccolo handles the situation the way he does, so it at least serves a purpose there. But even so, I really hope that if the Dragonball franchise really is becoming dedicated to making movies or stories about the supporting cast, that future movies don't feel the need to do the same thing every single time.

I think if you were doing the 18 and Good 21 plot from Fighter Z specifically, you could probably cut the Earthling Soul out of the story entirely and basically nothing would change. ES doesn't do a whole lot in that one.

It's the Freeza story where the Earthling Soul is really a major part of the plot.

Bringing back the topic of an Android 21 storyline, I just had an idea of also including Android 13 as well.

Bring in the Android 13 characters and give them more charactization, might help give 21 some more characters to work with. Even give 13 some of the Majin upgrades 21 has.

Plus you could canonize the theory that 13 is based on a young Gero which means you could do a unholy matrimony thing between 13 and 21.

This might come out of nowhere, but I just realized something. Couldn't Roshi just have put the seal on the jar itself instead of a piece of paper? In fact, isn't that what he did during the tournament of power? Plus, even during the fight against Zamasu, couldn't they have just written the seal on the coupon to make it work? Non-metallic talismans just tend to be pieces of paper with spells on them anyways.

More androids would be fun, but I'd probably wait a bit since Superhero already dealt with some.

I don't get why Zamas was even a threat.

He was SSJ 2 level at best and Goku punched his face in.

Just Kamehameha him in the face. Heck Vegeta's 10 minute beam spam would be perfect for that situation. Goku straight up backhanded him at one point.

He made himself invincible with the Super Dragon Balls, even when his shit got kicked in he still regenerated pretty quickly, and even used his invincibility to his advantage a couple of times.
