I actually do kind of like the idea that Buu had the potential for God Ki in him after absorbing the Kaioshin, but was too simple minded to comprehend and harness it.

Unfortunately, that didn't stop him from shit stomping everyone.

He did well enough even with his ignorance.

The supposed strongest mortal was a guy that never trained a day in his life. Whenever he trains, he leaves everyone else in the dust.

Buu is an eldritch abomination who in theory can have everyone else's abilities due to absorption. So a Buu "black" or whatever could just...candify the universe if he desired to do so.

So then... Clearly the endgame for super is Uub vs. Black Frieza.

You joke but that could legitimately happen. Super Hero is already like, 1 or 2 years away from end of Z. Freeza is still at large by then.

Given how a lot of the movies like to revisit earlier arcs like Resurrection F for Freeza or Super Hero for Android/Cell, maybe they do a revisiting of the Buu arc in a potential Uub movie.

How would that work? Hell if i know, it would be interesting if they tried to tackle a story after the ending of Z.

So I totally brain farted and forgot that the epilogue of Z and the introduction of Uub hasn't happened yet in Super... That's embarrassing, huh?

You know Geoff, I didn't ask for an existential crisis today....

Looking at it that way this does make him the perfect, ultimate opponent for Goku

Sure enough, it's the adaptation of the Super Hero movie.

Adds a little bit more with Krillin spying on Hedo and Magenta's conversation in the car, but beyond that it's not all that different.

Poor old Krillmaster.

Lol, Trunks and Goten got forced by their parents to never be heroes ever again offscreen. So much for a surprisingly interesting development.

Krillin pointing a gun at something is the weirdest thing ever.

Anywho, yep, this is basically the first ten minutes or so of Super Hero in comic form. Which means the arc shouldn't be too long, if it's going at this clip.

And while it falls into the category of "the same story, plus additions," I rather liked the additions so it was pretty good.

Its funny how Krillen has a decent position on his job if he gets to be involved in these major criminal investigations/operations

Well, it helps that Krillin is stupid strong. He's the kind of super cop you'd want on such big cases.

I'm guessing he's also easy to work with.

Mostly just Super Hero, but Krillin fighting Hachimaru in the background of all the exposition was very funny.

So here's a thought.

How do you think Namek would have gone if it had been Goku, at the exact power level he was at post Vegeta fight (rather than post 100 times gravity training) instead of Krillin and Gohan?

Like, would Toriyama have had Goku using stealth tactics and the like? That doesn't really seem to be his thing (and I'm talking about both the character and the author).

I wonder how he would have handled it?

In reality power levels are whatever Toriyama wants them to be, so he could just contrive a reason for Goku to be able to fight other characters if he wanted. Goku should at least have gotten a Zankai boost after recovering from Vegeta. That plus doing the same image training Gohan and Krilin did on their way to Namek (assuming he goes on Kami's ship in this scenario instead of them) might put him in the ballpark of Cui/Dodoria/Zarbon.

Even if Goku's exactly as strong as he was when he fought Vegeta, Kaioken will allow him to take on Freeza's lieutenants. Though he won't have the same mastery he got from gravity training so he'd have to be more careful with it.

Goku might actually get that rematch with Vegeta that he wanted since he's getting to Namek earlier. Though they'll probably still team up when the Ginyus arrive.

If Goku meets Guru, Guru's potential unlock would probably put him on par with how strong he was on Namek in canon.

I like to imagine drinking the Ultra Divine Water, in retrospect, basically was Goku's potential unlock. It brought him up so much that even after King Piccolo had been rejuvenated by his wish, Goku was still more than a match for him. and even let Goku tap into abilities he never had before, namely Ki sensing.

That's probably true but Gohan got his potential unlocked twice (first by Guru, then by Old Kai) so it might still work on Goku.

I just realized that with Krilin not on Namek, Goku probably doesn't go Super Saiyan in this scenario. If the potential unlock itself doesn't do it anyway.

Krillin was the sole adult survivor of the Saiyans rampage that was healthy by the time Vegeta was defeated. Goku was out of comission and Gohan, while powerful, is 5 years old.

Krillin is fairly essential for the early parts on namek as he keeps both Gohan and Bulma safe from Freeza's forces by hiding their ki (and also letting vegeta kill the more powerful ones)

It's an overlooked part of the series, cause you can seriously feel how helpless Krillin and Gohan get everytime they come across the bad guys.

Gero had 2 kids, and Hedo is the child of the one that wasn't the inspiration for Android 16.

I don't know why that's the part that stood out the most to me this chapter but hey.

I wonder if child number 2 inspired any other model.

Lol imagine if 19 was based on Hedo's dad or...Trucker Hat is canonized as Hedo's dad.

Kinda looks like 19 doesn't he? Though I think 19 originally was just some puppet that Gero fancied enough to turn into a cyborg. Hey I ain't judging.

I'm still shocked that 21 has been canonized in any way.

Like, we'll probably never actually get Vomi as 21, but still.

In the briefing, they mentioned that Hedo inherited the data for a biomechanical weapon, but they neglected to mention that said biomechanical weapon was Cell. That's not supposed to be a secret, and it's information the police could really use.
