Adding to my list of complaints about Integral Factor: Hitbox Dissonance, attack warning malfunctions, Quicktime errors, and attacks that land more hits than they're supposed to.

Progressive Volume 6 explains a great deal in the first chapter. For starters, it provides a potential answer to that film theory about how Argus could have afforded to build a game as intricate and complex as SAO: They were secretly funded by Kikuoka's team. Kikuoka being a beta tester was no luck of the draw, but rather a deliberate plan from the start for his VR weaponization project. The complexity of the AI in Sword Art Online was always intended to be the forerunner to Project Alicization, while using VR for military training was a convenient secondary application and cover story. This would also explain why Kikuoka's team was so heavily involved in the response after Kayaba hijacked the launch, and why they proceeded to make use of the Seed for Project Alicization. Furthermore, it explains Kikuoka's willingness to recruit Professor Shigemura: even though Kayaba turned out to be a lunatic, his work was still invaluable.
Continuing in Progressive 6, I have to conclude that Kirito is just as reckless as the other Black Cats; he just happened to be good enough to survive his own crazy stunts.
Progressive manga or book, by the way?
Yuri fanfiction writer! http://www.fanfiction.net/~shanejayellBook. It covers the latter half of the 6th floor (which I note is a lot bigger than depicted in Integral Factor). In light of his willingness to walk into a trap for some steak, it's no surprise Kirito imagined he could escort all of the Cats by himself.
Cool. Will try to grab it this weekend then...
Yuri fanfiction writer! http://www.fanfiction.net/~shanejayellIt also gives backstory on why Kirito is so protective of NP Cs.
Okay, Chapter 13 was just bizarre. Why would you ever need to sneeze in a VR game?
Everyone is all about muh Realism until Reality Is Unrealistic.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. What makes it stupid is that it's a contrived way to add drama which is then solved in an equally contrived way we had no indication was possible. The context is that "We have to walk across this lake carefully, lest a giant starfish drag us to certain death." Kirito then has to sneeze for some reason, which disturbs the water enough to beckon the starfish, so they have to sprint to the shore before the starfish can catch them.
Does anybody expect Pitohui to show up in the War for the Underworld in the anime? Because this sounds like exactly the sort of thing she'd jump on.
Depends on what's going on in Gun Gale IV I suppose.
Yuri fanfiction writer! http://www.fanfiction.net/~shanejayellAlternative GGO doesn't seem to clash much with the main cast barring the loli brigade getting Sinon's help to get a gun. Which is a shame since while I don't care much for the main series casts I find spin off characters interacting with the main series fun
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysI was thinking a cameo when they rally all the gamers for the Human Empire army.
So, the Third Squad Jam is July 5, 2026, smack dab in the middle of the Alicization Arc. Is Sigsawa only allowed to set Squad Jams when Kirito and co. are indisposed?
Quite possibly.
So Integral Factor does seem to be going the Rosaryshipping route, which seems to be related to the plot being completely off the rails even without the Player's influence.
Finished GGO 4: I can't believe the defending champions managed not to notice the rising floodwaters until they were trapped alone on a skyscraper. Also have to love Sigsawa's Self-Deprecation, as this time his Author Avatar is eliminated in the preliminaries by his editor who wanted him to finish his book.

That was pretty good. The 'Betrayers' rule was clever, tho weirdly I wish Pito hadn't been picked. It would have been so much more interesting if Fuka had had to fight Llenn.
Yuri fanfiction writer! http://www.fanfiction.net/~shanejayellPretty sure Fuka won't be participating in the War for the Underworld, though. Frankly, LLENN probably couldn't wake her up in time after this marathon session.
You're forgetting despite technically being the Champions it's Team T-S They're essentially a bunch of camping scrubs to lucked into winning and are terrified of retribution. They're more worried about trying to turtle up then actually paying attention to what's happening around them. (Compare to LFPM, Memento Mori and SHINC who tear through their opposition).
As for the rest of the novel itself I would say Shirley and Clarence's massacre time was a definite highlight. Though I do wonder if Sigsawa deliberately pitted them against each other in reaction to them being teamed up in Hollow Fragment.
Though Shirley and her choice to use explosive rounds does bring (back) up one of the issues I have with the design of GGO (the game). Given the near future setting I think its a missed opportunity not to include experimental technologies (ie railguns) or oddball techs from the past that never got off the ground like gyrojets that might become viable with more advanced tech. (Actually Pito forking out for plasma grenades for Fuka's launcher is an even better example of the missed opprtunity).

As absurd as Integral Factor's plot normally is, it manages to get even weirder with an event starring Eugeo and Alice, crossing the line from anachronisms into outright Time Travel.
Also, Integral Factor has me wondering if Suguha is supposed to be stupid. The avatars of SAO players are identical to their real-life appearance. Even so, Suguha is still looking for Kazuto after several episodes, completely unaware that he's the front-line player, Kirito. Of course, that would explain her surprise at finding out they're Not Blood Siblings despite the biological impossibility of that being the case.
