Launches don't need any special approval. See A Guide To Easy Launching Of Your YKTTW.

Of recent cases, the most obvious example are those "Magma Assgrab" entries from the 29th of February 2012: ten equal entries one after the other.
It's easy enough to do that on the script level: If the current entry beign displayed is apparently identical (same permanent ID, same target name) to the one immediately prior then ignore it.

My preference, as a user, would be the provision of an explicit set of options — such as "Show All", "Hide Discard Lauches", "Show Only Discard Launches" — so that if I wanted to ignore the discarded tropes I could, and if I felt like looking at them I could do that too.

The new YKTTW format has separate lists for launches and discards which, I think, fixes this issue. Locking.

Recently, I noticed that the "YKTTW Launch List" page is more often cluttered with not-yet-approved entries.
My suggestion is to find a way to remove (or prevent from appearing) all those entries which are completely identical to an already existing (neighboring) entry. Of recent cases, the most obvious example are those "Magma Assgrab" entries from the 29th of February 2012: ten equal entries one after the other.
Another good thing to have would be a filter to show only the approved entries.
