Huh, now only path(besides obvious bad endings resulting from betrayals :P) left is Oldman's.(not counting locked paths) I hope game doesn't freeze this time.

So Dio was crazy clone fanatic zealot cultist assassin terrorist brother replacement? Can't say I expected that. Had figured out that Sigma and K are better candidates since they have same face... Unless they are clones of the brother or something :P

...Password and ID used sad Luna is best participant just because she always allies(ska the most loyal, who the heck cares shes machine when shes more trustworthy than all of humans ;P) while Dio always betrays. I guess its fitting since Luna is on "side" of the Zero and Dio is against Zero. Anyway, so old woman wasn't Zero after all... I was wrong about that. That only leaves one more person to be Zero and thats K's father. And since K's seem to be genetically engineered and Luna called Sigma "Doctor"... So unless Sigma is also son of K or clone, hes most likely the Zero. Then again, K's father doesn't seem to be around anymore so I guess Zero Sr could be dead by now before game even begun, but that would mean that Jr lied..

Dio allies once in the whole game, against Luna.

Regarding Quark....

Technically he gets blown to hell along with everyone else in the routes ending in Dio's bombs exploding, though, like the rest of the cast in these scenarios, his death isn't explicitly shown. You never actually see him kill himself in any of the routes I've see, and he's not among the Radical-6 induced(?) suicide victims in Clover's ending.

I was disappointed by the Sigma route ending. It doesn't really explain much about him beyond a single physical feature that I'm guessing will play a bigger part in the story, but feels cheap right now. There's just so little information to go off to piece everything together right now, and I've already played through to six of the nine different endings (only Tenmyouji, Luna, and Phi left, unless there's some extra ones the question marks are lying to me about.) Which endings really start to shed light on things?

Luna's does explain lots of things and Phi's is probably the final one since shes the main-er character by virtue of being first one with Sigma. Oldman's should explain something too since he knows Clover and stuff.

Also, I'm not sure what you are talking about, I was starting to piece things together rather early on, but Luna's ending screwed up some of my hypothesises(correct word?) tongue

You can piece together things by considering WHAT things happen on what times lines and what doesn't happen. Like why bombs are found only in Alice timelines and why oldwoman's corpse wasn't found there. Note that I still don't know what those means but its something I noticed. Maybe I won't know until final ending.*shrugs*

BTW (spoilers for Luna ending) ya know whats very evil? That bracelets can be removed as easily as using alunium foil. Seriously, knowing that would have made the game cakewalk.

Well, from what I can gather, the world is in disarray due to Radical-6 spreading everywhere, and may no longer be inhabitable. Dio is the leader of the Myrmidons, the enforcers of Brother's cult, and is this game's equivalent to Ace in terms of being an antagonist who is not actually running the show. Clover and Alice are government agents who'd intended to raid the cultists' headquarters, but were apparently captured two days prior and thrown into the Nonary game with everyone else.

Oldy was part of some space project he hasn't elaborated on yet that might of spread the disease somehow. Luna is probably a robot, what with the creepy monotone and assuming Sigma was, and the GAULM that exposits at you in her route. K inexplicably has Sigma's face, and loves the old lady Dio killed, who was apparently supposed to be a part of the Nonary game before he was sent in to stop... whatever the game is trying to accomplish. Quark doesn't appear to have anything to do with anything else as yet, beyond flipping out and requiring everyone to waste time searching for his cough syrup so he can sleep at night.

Phi must be an Esper, or a time traveler, or some such something, since she knows Sigma's name and alludes to making "jumps" during Dio's ending. The flowchart is canonical - Sigma reacts to characters flip flopping on their votes in an paradoxical manner, leading me to believe he is either being guided through a single time line by a second party ala Junpet and Akane in the original, or possesses time traveling/psychic powers of his own. Thus his ability remember information given to him shortly before his death in most of the other scenarios.

I suppose that's a lot of information, but it's more a stand than a story, right now - it's building up to something I just don't see fitting cleanly together. At all.

I actually know more than you despite Luna's path not revealing that and me not playing the first game. For example, I figured out old woman's identity: (don't read it, I haven't done oldman and phi's ending and it isn't revealed in Luna's ending, this is deduction :P)

Shes Akane. Why? Because I checked 999 character's page for pictures and she looks excactly like older version of her. Plus Clover's exposition reveals that Akane was one of people behind the second game, so... Yeah. That also means that since Alice and Clover said it had been year since second game that some people have been frozen for way long time. If Alice's water is really that ice-9 then there are four people who have been frozen. Dio obviously wasn't frozen as he sneaked into the place, K knew older Akane and Luna is robot so assuming Sigma doesn't have fake memories, candidates are Oldman, Quark, Phi, Sigma and we know for sure that Alice and Clover were among people before virus outbreak.

Ah dang it, because of bug I finished oldman's route last and because of that I had already done whats necessary to unlock path to that one D: SO now I don't see what would have happened otherwise! Does someone have video of that? I wanna know Whether Clover goes on killing spree or not

Ah wait, nevermind, doesn't locked paths just cut off and go to "To be continued" screen instead of having alternate endings?

Yeah, locked paths don't count as endings, and so usually the only thing different is Sigma not knowing what to do.

Hmm yeah.

BTW, Nonary game in this game seems to be rather easy to... Well, to "game". I mean, assuming that both sides have more than 3 points then agreeing to be betrayed would gain you 3 with other just having 2 loss and so on. Also, since after third rounds you still get infinite time of voting, people could just wait till everyone has enough points, but nooooooooooo, someone always wants to leave even if they don't have reasons :P Well, Dio is evil, K has excuse of fearing for his live but Clover doesn't have any real reason besides for being hasty. And Phi seems to be leaving to spite Sigma :P

Also, I doubt Zero is Oldman, but he looks kind of similar. Thats problem with old people, they all look the same! :P Seriously though, he has nice coat and eye patch.

So have you figured out who Tenmyouji is?

I haven't played the first game, but since she has picture of young oldman it has to be Junpei since he was chasing after Akane(which makes sense since if Akane is old, lots of time must have passed.. Still annoying how he for some reason avoids telling players that they are from their point of view in future. I mean that'd solve lots of problems like people trying to get out to find help because its impossible to find help) :p Also, if this game is doing what I think its doing, its being a jerk D: I mean, first Phi claims I betrayed her first, then path is locked and I have to choose betray path to unlock hers again and this time Sigma says he knows Phi chose ally so it makes it seem like he really did betray her first.

I'm at the non 100% true ending O_o Well, so THATS why everybody finds Sigma creepy :p Pervy oldmen! But yeah, he has to be very dense to not notice that.

Aaand it turns out that two final secret files from final room are mystery baiting tongue Okay, can someone gimme a rest and tell me what is hidden in passwords?

My Brother

Crash Keys

Free Z Soul

Myrmidons

All of them are pretty self explanatory except for Crash Keys, which if you sound it out comes out to Kurashiki. Nobody knows if it mean Akane, Aoi, or both, but there's definitely something more going on, especially since Akane was wearing robes with the Free the Soul symbol.

Fun Fact, the password to Luna's account; "Milkevoli" is "I Love Klim" backwards

Huh ._. Interesting

But yeah, game is now 100% completed. I can see why Hidden alternate ending is so hidden. I mean it was nice to get slightly more closure on the other participants(I kind of wondered what they did after Akane fake stabbed Sigma/Phi), but it was mostly very heavy foreshadowing. I mean is that unknown person in Kyle's body supposed to be future protagonist or what? Alice and Clover can use loophole to get back? Something horrible happened in that mission site resulting in Sigma becoming rather bitchin' cyborg(I mean really, without ABT and cyborg eye patch thing he looks rather badass in creepy way) and some woman talking about how she killed 6 people plus caused virus outbreak. Oh and how in the heck Brother ties up with everything.)

So Phi. Apparently the designer was told to make her look like a feminine Santa or purpose. There's no doubt they're connected, especially with Santa's conspicuous absence, but I doubt Santa got a sex change just to confuse the players. Also she's from his time, so she can't be a daughter or a clone, unless that physical time travel stuff happened aaaarrrrggg.

Food for thought though, Phi is the 21st letter in the greek alphabet. The digital root of 21 is 3. Coincidence? Probably not.

I've never seen that.

I like that despite multiplatform making it impossible to do something like 999's big reveal and final puzzle, they still managed to do something cool on the 3DS version with the second screen representing Sigma's robotic eye.

^Huh? I didn't notice that spoiler, can you explain?

Also, I'm little sad that we see stuff in Sigma's point of view. I mean there are too little badass oldmen player characters in games :P Plus it would have been interesting since everyone WAS treating you as an oldman. Yeah, it would ruin the reveal, but still.

Moth13 Since: Sep, 2010

[up]The top screen is normal, but the bottom screen is full of scan lines like it's mechanical. I assume each screen is supposed to represent a different eye.

Huh, His cyberpatch doesn't work as eye then? Then how the heck he didn't notice it? I mean I can assume that as oldman he doesn't have anymore that good sense of feeling that he would notice piece of metal in his eye, but if he can't even see through it?

Moth13 Since: Sep, 2010
#97: Dec 7th 2012 at 8:14:34 AM

No, it probably does work as an eye. The idea is that all the "zoom" stuff and scan lines is a subtle tip off to the players that something is up with him.

So Tenmyouji's Junpei. Or someone else who had a thing for Akane, but that's really stretching at this point. This makes absolutely no sense when you consider Clover isn't much older than she was in her initial appearance, and he was only twenty something in 999. Time traveling shenanigans are to ensue soon, I'm sure. The Phi ending has to be heavy on exposition, since even Luna and Oldy's were lacking. The letter from Quark I think would of fit better in his ending, rather than Tenmyouji's, though it does all but confirm that he's not especially important to the story. Sigma being a doctor of some sort is... interesting. And Luna's reveal as a robot no doubt will be very important down the road. Of all the endings thus far, I like hers the most. Sigma's trapped in a facility, by himself, for God knows how long, with only a very vague idea of why he was there, and why the friends he'd made had to die. There's something far more disturbing about that than any of the others that end in his death. Or just Alice's in that one case.

It's a really minor thing, but I like the subtle implication that Zero Jr.'s fond of Luna. Somehow. Even after she hacked him, he feels the need to appear to you again after half a dozen paths of late-game silence just to tell you off for betraying her. It's cute.

Speaking of Alice, does anyone else feel that Quark's ending finishing up with her suicide felt abrupt and random? "Ohbythewayeveryone! Goodbye!" Thunk. Credits.

^Umm, I can spoil you a little bit since its not really a spoiler since you have at that point gotten enough information(place where you learn about it that you have to have had encountered already aka puzzle room: Treatment center.) to make that deduction especially when you learn about oldman...(aka, how it is possible that he is who he is) Cold sleep.
