It's alright, everyone makes mistakes. Nice avatar, by the way.

Anyway, I'm back from work today. With the way the trip to the DMV got planned, I'm actually going to be pretty free tomorrow.

Not sure what to do right now without any real posts since my last one though.

I've just had an idea. If humans can be ressurected as zombies what about demons?

Oh and the avatar it's not mine my sister found it.

Well it's still better than no avatar.

Anyway, Demons being resurrected? Kinda. This goes well into one of those bits of info about the game I already thought up but didn't bring up because it wasn't relevant and I didn't want to just bog people down with information they didn't need or want. Specifically, how more Demons get made. ("Reproduce" isn't quite the right word...)

As briefly mentioned in my first bestiary list, there's two types of Demons. The full-fledged Demons; AKA the Angels fallen from heaven after siding with Lucifer against God, and then there's their spawn.

The actual Demons are limited in number, and can't make more of themselves. They're also semi immortal; blasting their body to bits when they cross over to Earth isn't enough, because their soul just goes back to their world and regenerates. There are methods to defeat this, but they are very difficult.

Since they can't make more of themselves, they do the next best thing. They make copies, essentially. The actual Demons can kind of gather up essence over time and mold it into beings; the result of which depends on which Demon is doing it, how much essence they gather, and whether they combine the essence with anything else. This is how Demon spawn are made. When Demon spawn die, their bodies have a nasty tendency to disintegrate into a strange dust, which makes the easier resurrection methods impossible. (But makes for a great spell ingredient.) However, if one could somehow manage to gather the essence that went into making the spawn, they could use that and make it into something/merge it into something as a form of resurrection.

Right, with that (hopefully) answering your question, I must be off for a bit as dinner is ready. When I get back I intend to post.

It's entirely possible I picked up those ideas from somewhere. I don't claim that this is all completely original.

Anyway, did you give thought to what I mentioned before about how your character could get in? Because I had an idea or two onto that that could let you get into the current scenario if you want.

If you were gonna go with the monster she was trying to hunt be that werewolf, then it'd go like this: She would've been hunting down a werewolf that also happened to be a 10 year old boy. She would've figured out he'd been staying in an old hospital that doubled as a small zombie nest. However when she finally made a move, found that the zombies were all dead and the werewolf was nowhere to be found; the evidence found clearly pointed to bounty hunters. After camping out somewhere for the night, she made her way to one of the closest communities, Saint Clair, and asked about bounty hunters. She would've been told that they had bounty hunters, but that they had gone out on a task to another community down South at Fairfax. So she could've followed behind, and is only now catching up.

That, or the bounty hunter team that got what she was hunting for could've happened to be one that was staying at Fairfax. And she decided to go there to join up with them, not knowing what just happened to Fairfax.

Either one lets her arrive at Fairfax to see the current scenario either now or shortly.

That's pretty good but i've already got a good story worked out, thanks anyway. By the way she was never hunting a werewolf, One just features in her back-story. she's actally brought here with a small team of vampire hunters. I think I'll work some artistic brilliance and edit my mistake post into my entrence.

Hey guys, sorry about the current holdup. I'm just having a bit of the age-old issue of writer's block. I expect to get a post in either later tonight or tomorrow, knowing myself.

Also, interesting intro Gbrn, even if it did have a few writing errors.

I've edited my post a little. Please forgive me if I ever hog the spotlight, I'm more used to G Ming this sort of thing and I'm finding it difficult not to put game changing plot hooks in my storyline.

@Gbrn: Looks a lot better now, cool. smile

@DAcriz: Good to hear, now hopefully you can post, too? tongue Nah, just kidding, you don't have to if you don't want to. At least you've got some free time anyway.

As for me on the other hand... Work called and asked if I could come in today; I ended up agreeing so there's no helping it now. This is just a quick check in before I leave; I don't have time for a full post just now.

The rest of my week isn't looking too great in that aspect either. I've got work every day until Sunday, minus Thursday. (Assuming they don't end up calling me in then too.) Plus, I don't know my next week schedule so I could be working on Monday and onward too.

So in other words, looks like this RP's pace is gonna keep at slow and steady for now. My apologies to anyone who was hoping for a different pace.

It depends on the area, mainly. Prices are all set locally, typically depending on what's causing the most trouble there. (For instance, sometimes instead of separate prices for walkers and runners they'll have just a "zombie" tag for both.) However, they're pretty much always dependent on how dangerous the monsters in question are too, so you'd be hard pressed to find a place where a runner bags the same price as, say, a vampire.

In Cleveland though, the main monster tags go as follows:

  • Giant rat = $3
  • Dire wolf = $5
  • Werewolf = $20

  • Walker = $3
  • Runner = $5
  • Skeleton = $7
  • Ghoul = $10
  • Vampire = $20

  • Imp = $3
  • Gremlin = $7

  • Other/rare = Inquire at Cleveland-Hopkins airport

Cleveland has most trouble with undead, and least with Demons.

Anyway, I'm back from work now. Give me a while (As in like 10 minutes-a couple hours.) and I'll get a post up.

EDIT: There we go, post up. Fun fact; I had already planned on ghouls being involved in this encounter before Gbrn brought up his ghoul-like demon idea.

... No, I cannot prove that.

@Gbrn: Perhaps in the finer details and behavior, no, but the key defining visual elements you described for your suggestion and the ones I had already made for ghouls before then read like the same monster. As in, they're both black colored with glowing red eyes.

@Wysp: The ghouls are meant to be one hell of damage sponges, despite their fragile appearance.

... Man you guys make small posts. Oh well, I plan on getting a post done sometime today/tonight. Hopefully not in too long.

I tend to post on my iPod, so I tend to post what my characters do in the minimum amount of space.

Plus, I'm used to playing superhuman characters, and I'm not particularly sure how to describe Blight dodging.

Oh, there's nothing wrong with small posts, I didn't mean it that way. I prefer bigger posts, but small will do, especially if you have trouble making big posts. I consider myself lucky to have pretty good access to my own computer, so typing out long things isn't a problem for me. But I understand that not everyone has that luxury.

Anyway, sorry this post didn't get done sooner. Between waiting to let anyone else post, thinking about what should happen next, and plain ol' gettin' distracted, it took me longer than I initially meant it to.

Okay, I think I might've overestimated my ability to run combat. Seems I need to get used to the flow of things again.

Anyway, point is that took way too long, so I'm gonna let you guys know that I'm ending the combat. (Ross's last bit of dialogue is just Ross being Ross.) So to those still interested in playing, it's character interaction time I suppose.

Also, @Gbrn: Sorry about not responding to your post sooner. I got really distracted by friends yesterday and only remembered to check on things here when it was about time to go to bed. So I decided to leave it until today rather than quickly get a sleep-deprived post done.

@firoc it's fine although i note ross' comment. The original Kintra was raised in the standard Trynidian way, meaning she would only be treated like an adult when she kills her first opponent. Usually that will be when she's around 30 years old due to their overdose of training. So in my head I'm trying to translate a character who's half lizard, 27 and treated like a 12 year old so it'll be a bit sketchy for a while.

@Gbrn: An interesting tradition, but does that mean she hasn't killed anyone in her back story?

Anyway, as somewhat hinted at in my main post, here's a chance for people to split up and search different areas. Basically I'm going to list the different areas to cover, and everyone can pick one they'd like to search. They're assumed to do a once-over of the whole area, including all rooms listed for indoor ones. (This could end up taking multiple "turns" I suppose.) The practical side to this is simple: say your character finds something that, in-character, they wouldn't want to share? Could totally just take it for themselves, and maybe even try to keep it a secret from the others or whatever you wanna do.

So, here's the areas I've got: (Each of these except the attic and outdoors are assumed to have at least one bathroom, if you really care to know.)

  • Outdoors, front yard: gate, flower garden, main battlefield.
  • Outdoors, back yard: pool, hot tub, storage shed.
  • First floor, North: living room, kitchen, dining room, wash room.
  • First floor, South: master bedroom area.
  • Garage: A large garage.
  • Second floor: bedrooms, office. (Where Ross is going.)
  • Basement: guest bedrooms, entertainment room.
  • Attic: storage.
