I have to agree with a lot of people here: we really shouldn't try and make titles as cringe-worthy as possible, even if it's about a politically incorrect trope.

Agreed. This was a precedent from Where da White Women At?, but at least with that, it's has a well-known Trope Namer and it's concise. None of these try-hard names really make sense. Someone can holler for a mod, I think it's going to be Whiteys Little Asian, but hopefully they'll do White Mans Asian Woman.

White Mans Asian Woman is at -5, and it completely misses the trope to boot.

Asking again: Has anybody got a less cringeworthy name?

The stereotype is that an asian Love Interest is disadvantaged, right? The white guy is only incidental to that.

No, the relationship is important.

Don't worry too much. Whiteys Little Asian will be sent back here in a few months, maybe we'll get a decent name next time.

To be blunt, I'm waiting for actual objective reasons for why my suggestion is bad. We've had one so far (about confusing the romantic relationship for a parent-child one), which is a concern, although a minor one. Not much we can do about that except see if that problem manifests, at which point I will eat my proverbial hat and join in another rename effort.

Honestly, I'm beginning to wonder if some people are getting too emotionally attached to this issue. It's a trope rename, and not a particularly significant one at that. It isn't the end of the world if the name isn't perfect.

I added the redirect to the crowner.

It is bad to have a pun of Daddy's Little Angel as a title about unequal sexual relationships between adults because it will trigger a great many people. Stock phrases about small children and sexual relationships do not mix.

I didn't say it wasn't. My point is that the name is focused too much on the relationship and not the core point of the trope.

Well, a week has gone by and we're just spinning our wheels again, it seems.

Also, any possible play on "Daddy's Little Angel" was unintended. I can see that it might get mistaken for that, but I just don't see the other suggestions as really any better.

If no one has any brilliant suggestions (and at this point, they'd have to be near perfect to justify not starting the crowner over for them), we really need to wrap this up.

What about Underprivileged Asian Lover

If we want to say it's exclusive to white men, we can do it in the description. But that name would solve the actual problem the thread was started to solve.

Well, the mods would agree with you on that count, seeing as the crowner is still open, despite not really changing very much in the last month.

However, I don't think this is something we can leave as is, the misuse is a little crazy. So...thoughts?

I will say that whoever added Asian Race Fetish to the crowner is either grasping at straws, or really doesn't get what this trope is about. That's just outright a bad name and totally misrepresents the trope, no matter how you slice it.

The main problem with "docile" is that she doesn't have to be.

We have seen at least 6 new people vote in the past 80-ish hours, so this is still picking up at least a little action. Since that many votes could throw the result in a new direction—given that there's no runaway lead—we're going to wait for that to slow a little.

Whiteys Asian Doormat is indeed the most appropriate title.

Fictional White boys believe Asian women are convenient doormats that don't talk back and don't have any other wish than being a man's trophy housemaid... and of course a rutting sow when it comes to sex.

Plus there's the whole "I have bigger cock than Asian guys thus I'm a better man" ordeal that is much more present than one would like to acknowledge. It's also part of why Where da White Women At? is often a touchy subject because Black men have a reputation of... yeah.

This trope is supposed to be patronizing and offensive, not about truly loving relationships where race is incidental.

PS: As a side note, don't you all think there's a trope to be created about White women/Any non-White man? When it shows up in Western works, it's the whole plot, never incidental.
