Trails franchise (Trails In The Sky, Trails Of Cold Steel etc)

And finished the demo. Impressions:

• English Arianrhod sounds awesome.

• The sound mixing is weird. The music is way too quiet and the voices are really loud by default. I fixed it in the settings but is that a localization thing or was it in the original too?

• Is Kurt made of paper? Dude collapses the minute things get difficult.

• Rean continues to be everyone's chew toy, even as a teacher.

• Kurt handled that stock anime pervert call back like a champ.

• Juna is great.

• I knew that all of Class VII's English actors came back except for Millium's but I was not expecting most of the rest of the English cast for the last two games to come back as well. Most games that change localization companies don't bother with that so it's good to see.

• Nice to hear Randy finally get an English voice. Looking forward to Tio's as well.

• I can't decide if Brave Orders make the game too easy or are totally pointless.

• Schmidt strikes me as someone who would join Ouroboros just to screw around with their technology.

• I'd never actually thought about how "Tita" and "Agate" would be pronounced until this game.

thankfully, Xseed and NIS use the same recording studio for their English talent. so getting them back was miraculously easy for once. It's kind of incredible how gruff Sean Chiplock can make Rean, when his normal speaking voice is very high-pitched.

Mr. Chiplock has everything to be one of the greats.

Hold your horses there, bud. They still need to go through an additional editing pass, bug testing, and making sure the additional features work. But Omgfloofy's said the worst is over.

My guess is we'll get it before the year's out.

I know, but it's still cause for celebration.

What's left is small potatoes compared to what they did over these past two years.

Damn, it was released already? Can't believe I let it fly over my head like that.

God, the marathon boss at the end of Trails of Cold Steel 1 chapter 6 is a nightmare. I basically won on my second try through raw luck.

Damn, S-Crafts. Damn two bosses in a row forcing me to conserve my CP.

I think I've beaten one of the last bosses in Trails of Cold Steel 1. Phew, that took me a while.

I've been debating whether or not to get Trails of Cold Steel III. I was originally going to pass up on it for Atelier Ryza instead because I heard about the Ys VIII debacle with NIS America and thought "Yeah, this is going to be another repeat of that is it?" But now, the pre-release reviews and news about NIS America hiring the same localization team from XSEED alleviated my fears of that and put the game on my spotlight again.

Man, this month is a hard choice for me. With a limited budget, I can only afford one JRPG right now, and I'm conflicted for Cold Steel III or Atelier Ryza.

Has the PC port been confirmed?

Not yet. If we use Ys VIII as a model it could be announced around January.

Also III is great. I'm waiting until I finish it to post my thoughts but so far it might be my favorite Cold Steel game.

So with the whole cold steel 3 thing and such.... should we finally actually change the name of Kiseki Series to Trails Series?

Dunno. What's the usual protocol for that sort of thing?

Also, speaking of the Trope pages...I put character quotes on the Trails of Cold Steel Character page for a few Class VII members a while back. I kinda stalled out, but if anyone has any ideas for quotes for the rest of them (or for the other games for that matter) I'd really appreciate the help! Obviously if you're avoiding spoilers, don't edit it yourself, but I'll gladly slap it in there for you if you @ me. I was leaning towards CS 1 quotes when I did it but honestly as long it's not a huge spoiler, I guess from any game works. I did quotes for Rean, Laura, Emma and Sara.

I don't see why we shouldn't just use the Trails title as a redirect. I mean, it's typically policy to refer to the official localized names of Japanese works whenever possible, so I don't see why Kiseki should be any different.

It should be 'Kiseki series' as a redirect to 'Trails Series'. We dont call Dynasty Warriors by its Japanese name Shin San Goku Musou

Technically it's "The Legend of Heroes" when it's not just referred to as "Trails".
