Hmm I don't really like Kanade yet and she seems likely to be the main heroine if anyone is, so I'll save her for later. For some reason, I actually like Chika when I feel like she ought to annoy me. I'm glad she's only ten and therefore not a heroine candidate.
I find it interesting that the main character is apparently not a high school student. He's gasp over 20!

...I want to say Eiji's voice is Azai Gonzou's, but I can't tell for sure since he's not being nearly as growly. It always bugs me when I can't definitively match a voice with a role.
...Oh god, I just realized. The protagonist looks just like Aizen before he ditched the glasses.
Oh, I guess Shoichi is younger than I thought if he's only a middle school graduate. That would make him about 20 then.
Okay, that was an excellent troll by Kanade, which had good timing since I was starting to think she was really boring. And Kanako is a fun character even if I think she's destined to never be taken seriously.
And I guess I'll go for Rimu first. She caught my interest early since she seemed like Karen at first, but I guess I changed my mind. She's Karen... only she acts like a five year old. Still, I don't want to go for Riho or Kanade first and she seems a little more interesting than Yayoi. Though I absolutely can't take her seriously in terms of romantic interactions. In fact, I'm going to skip over to a different route instead.

Yeah, I think it's unlikely I'll ever read Yayoi or Rimu's routes. Especially since Riho's route is basically addressing everything I wanted to see addressed.
Might or might not read Kanade's. I don't find her particularly interesting and, as noted, Riho's route is basically showing me the conclusion to the story that I wanted to see.

Tell me, is there a lot of overlap between the two main routes? I assumed that the incident in Germany would come up in Kanade's route rather than Riho's (which I haven't finished, by the way) and that Kanade's route would kind of be more low key and soothing compared to the brash Riho route. However, Riho's route seems to be taking care of everything apart from the obvious Kanade -> Soichi thing and Kanade's singing.
Huh, Kira Kira references. Interesting. I was wondering if Kirari was supposed to be the same Kirari from there and then I saw a guy I thought I remembered seeing on the Kira Kira Curtain Call box and hey! It was!
Okay, all done with Riho's route. It was enjoyable, but I did notice some flaws with the pacing and tension. It was a little meandering and didn't seem to know what it wanted to be the climax.

After a long period of laziness, I finally got the will power to make the Deardrops page. ... I'll replay it in a month or so to refresh my memory and add more tropes.
Full Battle ModeStill haven't picked up this VN yet. Should get to it soon.
Whelp, I feel like playing a VN for the first time in a long while (the last I can actually remember would be either Yume Miru Kusuri or Wanko To Kurasou, more than a year ago), and this was the first title that responded positively to my half-hearted attempts to pirate stuff because I'm broke.
Anyone want me to do a detailed report on my first run, or should I just come back here after I'm done?
Well this thread isn't doing anything productive.
(Also, it would remind me of plot events and add tropes to the page accordingly.)
Full Battle ModeEh, I'll make it a liveblog. Getting started as soon as it's dark around here. Got windows that are way too big, and I'm considered enough of a freak without closing the curtains during daytime.
Oh, be sure to play Riho's last since it's the most complete. Kanade's also worth playing. Rimu and Yayoi routes are short and only worth playing if you end up liking them. If you do, then get them out of the way first.
Full Battle ModeI have no idea what all those names were, and I'm going to keep it that way until I actually get started. I want to go in as blind as possible.
Besides, the first run is the instinct run. I'm not going for any sort of strategy to get any ending, I'm just going to make any decisions based on what I would do in such a situation.
Or at least, what I think I'd do in such a situation. I'm too much of a pathetic nerd to have any kind of experience with those kind of situations.
First instalment of the liveblog is done. Will probably do another one tomorrow.
Remind me to never play Muv Luv. If there's a single character type I can't stand, it's the bland Childhoodfriend.
Muv Luv really is pretty good, but Extra is terrible. Once you get to Unlimited you're in the clear and Alternative is even better.
Sumika... Sumika is a blight on visual novels everywhere.
Keeping that in mind.
In other news: Finished the liveblog of the second session. Kanade continues to annoy, new girl spotted, soundtrack still pretty.
Third session. Having some good fun, but I'm starting to suspect that no one actually reads these.
... I read the first one -_-.
Full Battle ModeYeah, thought as much. I might keep it up, but I have a terrible track record when it comes to finishing what I've started.
Starting this along with Rance. My nemesis, the redhead childhood friend who's good at nothing has appeared once more to menace my playtime. And sadly, I don't think there will be a Teacher route. She's just so crazy that I can't help grinning like an idiot whenever she makes an appearance.
... okay, Kanade's not entirely useless. Still don't care for childhood love interests unless its not their only gimmick. Wow. That girl's really got balls when she gets fired up. Maybe I'll run through her route after all.

Riho is a likable heroine. Kanade is just more likable though.
Then again, it takes a lot for me to truly hate a character.
