-He gestures to a small pair of discs jutting out from the back of the arm pack, pressed to the base of his neck and skull-

-He turns back and manages to save them before they get completely rubbery-

-The toast pops, a little darker than he wanted, but he serves up a plate nonetheless-

That's ingenious! I'll have to strongly consider such a setup should I feel the need to install additional limbs in the future... Though Dib and Gaz would probably prefer that their father stopped at two.

-He shrugs, waving a hand to try and switch gears-

Well, it's—... Sometimes, yes, it does get a little challenging to spend time with them, and uh... hear with full attention when they say their things, but I'm fortunate to have telepresence on my side! Uh... Not that this is a good replacement for... you know, being there, tucking them in, giving them hugs... I tried to build a robot for that very purpose, but the hugs tended either too loose or dangerously close to bruising strength, so it was swiftly retired.

(Dusts his hands as though brushing this silly endeavor aside.)

Ahhh, but I love them so much, they're so bright... so unique... Even Dib, my poor little eccentric boy, his fixations are unlike those of any children at his school... And Gaz, my beautiful little daughter, she is a connoisseur of video games! I hope they know... how wonderful it is that they're so special...

(aww... that may have been a tiny tear-glint... who even knows.)

And even if the part about being, oh, an entire universe away from my beloved children, rather than just on the wrong side of town, was something you actually did say, well, that would require some specialized instruments to confirm that theory, I would think! Ahhh, I'm truly sorry for going and putting these bizarre words in your mouth, Doctor, my head just clearly isn't right...

Yes, well if you'll humour these ravings, perhaps the two of us could, in a fit of folly, try to work on a way to confirm it together. Maybe even find a way to control the force that brought us here, or at least direct it.
