There's something gross and unpleasant about the whole awards wins and this recent thing with Druckman now being president. The game was good, but not THAT good and them being best studio and Druckman now president is laughable given their horrific personnel treatment.
I am worried about the future. I had worked in warehouses where we had an "All hands on deck" implemented near the beginning of November to meet with orders but from what I can imagine, it is nothing like crunch time.
"Analay, an original fan character from a 2006 non canon comic. Do not steal!"We will have to see how it goes. With the amount of staff they’ve lost and crunch time becoming more and more unpopular they may move away from it. On the other hand Cyberpunk 2077 spent the last six months in crunch and is probably going to sell insanely well, and it’s still common across the industry.
I feel bad for fans having to deal with shit for winning GOTY.
Mileena Madness"Yes she got exactly what she deserved for her plan to indirectly murder Joel for calling out her bullshit."
again.. it was *never* Marlene's plan to murder Joel - indirectly or otherwise. she had plenty of opportunity to kill the man and yet she never took it because she'd much rather have kept him alive. on his part, Joel didn't care about what the Fireflies were trying to accomplish; he simply wanted Ellie as his adoptive daughter.
"He wouldn't be the first or last person murdered by the Fireflies, fortunately they're gone now."
Joel wasn't murdered by the Fireflies, unless if you're operating under the logic that the group consisting of former members (most of whom no longer even identified with the Fireflies) still somehow count, and your assertion that the Fireflies no longer exist suggests to me that you never finished the second game if you played it at all.
on a different note, i'm delighted by the amount of recognition this game has won from this year's award functions. i actually expected Animal Crossing to snatch Go TY simply because of the kind of year this has been (and how much that game has offered some much-needed respite to a lot of people as a result.) special mention goes to Abby's VA who apparently had a torrid time with a very small and virulent portion of the fanbase that probably has no right to still be regarded as a legitimate part of the videogame community.
and as it may probably be the only message i write around here for the rest of the month, i'll take my opportunity now to wish everyone a festive season, and a much better year to follow.

~ ❀ ~Laura Bailey got Hate Dumb on her?
Wow. That's kind.... of a shock. She's in that category of hot and well-known voice actor that you expect the lesser parts of the fandom to just sort of back off.
I can't believe Abby hatred is that strong.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Never underestimate how irrational and petty people can be online.
The rumor that Druckmann and Bailey mo-capped a sex scene still persisted even after Bailey herself debunked it.
While I find Abby to be a badly written character, it's not Laura Bailey's fault and she deserved that win at the Game Awards, which I'll only say about accessibility options otherwise.
It's been 3000 years…I think Marlene did intend to murder Joel initially. Certainly, when Joel manages to fulfill his massive trek across the country with Ellie, Marlene suspiciously never brings up the guns she promised to pay him. The Fireflies also don't pay Joel and only don't kill him because Marlene told them not to.
Marlene seems to have undergone her own journey due to losing her entire team along the way.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. You'd think these people would realize by now its not the V As fault but the Voice Director a d writers if they have a problem with a character.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.IIRC Marlene made a note that the other Fireflies wanted to kill Joel while he was unconscious, but she stopped them. Sure she also wouldn't hold up her end of the deal they made but I feel that given they were going to kill a girl on the off chance of a vaccine they may or may not have the means to mass produce and distribute without even asking the girl if she'd like to sacrifice her life for the good of humanity they may have thought it was in bad taste.
Or someone had the foresight to realize if they gave Joel a shit ton of guns right after saying they'll kill his replacement-daughter figure he might have an idea on what to use them for
TV series finds new director for pilot episode
Bella Ramsey, known to HBO enthusiasts as Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones and the eponymous Hilda in Netflix's Hilda is going to be Ellie.
...I might have to check this out? I rather like Ramsey's work.

I'm sure in the final game the Demon Bull King be fought in somewhere with a lot more pomp and grandeur.

.....wrong thread?
Watch SymphogearPedro Pascal has been cast as Joel. I am happy with this casting.
...I don't think either of those actors look like the characters they're portraying, but meh, I don't know either of them and I didn't have any other hopeful picks
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).I mean, I guess he makes sense for Joel, since the Mandalorian is honestly pretty similar to him in terms of a character arc.
It's been 3000 years…Din Djarin and Hilda on a road trip surrounded by crazy people and fungi creatures?
Wasn't really keen about the game (especially in light of what went down in Part II), but I'll be damned if I didn't say the leads in the HBO series have caught my curiosity!

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Curious but would Joel fit Sacrificial Lion trope?
Reading the trope, he definitely counts for sure. He’s even in the video game section of the page.
