The villains are more entertaining for the most part, but I wouldn't say they qualify as Rooting for the Empire, because although they're fun, they're still unquestionably bad. You like to see them on screen, but you don't want them to win (or at least, that was my experience).

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.

[up]Actually...I wanted Jack to win a showdown every once in a while. [lol]

Jack did win a couple of times, and I counted at least three in the first season. Even if he didn't win or was in a showdown, he usually got to the Shen Gong Wu first and managed keep a hold of them until the end of the episode.

He's also the one who started cataloging which side had what kind of Wu, at least it's brought up in "Pandatown" and I think "Chameleon"? He's very opportunistic, remember when he trapped Chase Young in the Sphere of Yun (Yuan?) and got his control of the jungle cats?

Speaking of showdowns and fighting in general - they took a nose dive in Chronicles. They weren't that engaging and seemed like a time killer. Not to mention the fights were recycled animation (Showdown recycled too, but it was initially just calling out their attacks, not calling out their attacks and proceed to destroy the same Jack-Bots ad nauseam).

Was wondering: what exactly was the purpose of the Shen Gong Wu? Supposedly they were made by Grand Master Dashi to defeat Wuya, but we see in Citadel of Doom that all that was necessary to do this was to open the puzzle box and she would be trapped inside. She also appeared to have immunity to their effects as well, though that could just be because the Xiaolin Apprentices were still too low level to use them properly and only a higher level warrior could use them with enough power to defeat her. But if the puzzle box is enough, what was the point?

Known Unknown that's not true, you're lying! It's like with Dr. Doofenschmirtz!

I have to inform you that Stephen Sustarsic and several international voice actors (Wuya and Master Fung's Hungarian voice actors, Master Fung's Venezuelan VA, Rocco's Polish VA and Master Fung's Brazilian VA) passed away shortly after the conclusion of Xiaolin Chronicles. I don't know how all this will affect the future of Creator/Christy Hui's certain franchise. What do you think?
