Black Rock Shooter (2012 anime)

It looks so cool. I only wish I could understand what they were saying, though. But I guess we'll find out in February.

So apparently the guy responsible for Dead Leaves, Gurren Lagann, and Panty And Stocking With Garterbelt is directing the battle sequences for this show.

This is relevant to my interests.

The new trailer is awesome. On the new characters:

• Saya is a middle school counselor. She's calm and popular with the students
• Kagari is regularly in a wheelchair, loves reading, and hates Mato (or will when she meets her). Also, her art is back to school clothes
• Arata is a member of the basketball club. Always in her jersey

Not much on the non-humans, but it does suggest that BGS will be watching BRS fight. Oh, and they're calling the other world 'the imaginary world'

From my google translate of the website, it looks like they're holding a contest to see an early premier of the first episode. Interesting.

Those are some hideous school uniforms. Yellow? Really?

I still miss the OVA designs.

Have any subbing groups confirmed that they'll be picking this up?

^^For the humans, sure, but the rest of the redesigns are pretty good. Or would be if BRS wore her hood down more often

^I could say for certain if the fansub wiki was up, but I think it's safe to assume that someone will be subbing it

I greatly prefer the original Dead Master to the redesigned one, although the latter does look somewhat cute...

But she's not supposed to be cute...!

Also, I can't wait for Ax Crazy Kagari.

Yeah while I don't like how the OVA made no goddamn sense, I think this series is going to be too silly, not mysterious or gothic-ish enough. I don't like the scenery for the other world or whatever from what we've scene so far.

They made an English version of the website.

My first reaction was "WHAT?!"

My second was annoyance that it's not as updated as the Japanese version is (and none of the videos are subtitled)

But I'm still surprised there is any English website at all. I wonder if someone has talked about licensing the anime...or if they're going to stream a subtitled version online. (I would be pleased as punch if that happened.)

I think it's more a case of tomorrow or later today. It broadcasts in about 12 hours

Actually, when are the streams available? I know it's apparently tomorrow at 11:00, but is that Japanese time or North American time? And if the latter, which time zone?

No clue. It just says 11PM and then list the countries.

Well, the first episode wouldn't be up yet, so... nowhere, at the moment.
