Anime/Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai

Shrug, the cameras bugged me and their apparent inability to grasp the point of games and dating sims stretches credibility, but I'm not really concerned. The camera angles were extremely blatant fanservice, which bothers me a little more, but I can still overlook that because it's fun to see jerks.

Meh, Not bothered by anything of that sort. I just found it fun to see jerks being jerks in a way that doesn't insult your intelligence.

To me, the fanservice is a bonus.

Not really. They weren't simply interested in cooperation in Monster Hunter.

As for the dating sims... I know someone who did exactly that. XD

Not being interested in cooperation kind of defeats the point of playing the game they way they had originally intended. You could make the argument that this is still their idea of friendship, but it's not really what they had intended to do.

The point is that they say they want friends but still make no effort whatsoever to make them.

What? I liked it. I just want to see social misfits tear each other to bits, so that's okay with me.

I like how Kodoka just gave up the quest and started mining midway through.

^^^I thought mining the ore was the quest, and Kodaka was the only one to actually try to complete it.

Oh was it? I'm unfamiliar with Monster Hunter so I was thinking the quests would be about hunting monsters.

I kid I just didn't think mining would be the quest.

Hm. Someone said that events were rearranged to make Sena seem more tsundere towards Kodaka, but I don't see it. The manga has basically exactly the same order of events and things seem largely the same, though Kodaka appears more inclined to snark in the background.

The difference in art style is jarring, though.

I said that moving the swimming episode closer would be having her be more tsundere earlier. The club already had another member, and his little sister had an introductory chapter. Along with a few other chapters before that part happened.

I wonder if they will have the scene where Sena reads the pornographic scene in a visual novels lines.

Huh. I know I'm watching/reading this to see jerks being jerks but something about Yozora is rubbing me the wrong way despite even that.

Because she is the most manipulative and unapologetic about the whole thing?

Yeah, that sums it up pretty well. Especially since so far as I can tell that if the story has a main heroine/love interest thingy, it's her. And I don't quite understand why.

Oh well. She's still kind of amusing.

I think Sena gets the most ship tease with Kodoka. Due to Yozora being to much of a jerk to ask for some time with him. At least that's how I see the situation. With all less than 20 manga chapters and two episodes of knowledge under my belt.

What I was trying to say is that in spite of Yozora being introduced first I think that Sena has got more spotlight and development. So I would think that she would be more the main heroine. At least thus far, neither the anime nor the manga are really far along yet. So it could easily go either way.

Both the anime and the manga are (separately) based on a light novel. Appealing to the manga as any kind of authority is misguided at best. Both are adaptions of a third, more primary, source that is considerably further along in its story.

Yeah, but I don't know anything about the light novels except for vague rumors. So it's kinda useless to speculate using them as the base.

It's translated up to volume 3 on Baka-tsuki.

I haven't read it myself, but I just find it weird to talk about these things as it is unknown, rather than something you simply haven't bothered to research.

It is? Wow. When I first found the manga I checked and all they had was teaser for it. That must have been a while ago then. I just assumed it hadn't been to long and never checked again.

Looks like the manga is through the second novel.

Clarste: Well, personally, I'm not really interested in reading the light novels at the moment. I knew they were around, but I'd prefer more visuals for something like this. I also wanted to stop dropping manga spoilers into the thread, so I stopped talking about it.
