That is happy news. The final act(s) of FMP are damn spectacular, and turns the entire setting as you (a non-specific, non-reader of the light novels/manga "you") know it on its head.

I do want to see the side story novels also. I remember of a novel that explores Kurz's life in pre-Mithril Tokyo and his days in high school.

I should probably read those. I read the main series a while back and while there are some cool moments post the parts that got anime adaptations, I felt like it lost something when it moved away from comedy.

I remember that there were some SS scenarios that weren't adopted. I think one has Kurz's entire backstory of living/studying in Japan.

I doubt that it'll be delayed that far. AFAIK, the production crew's working to get it out by Fall at least.
