Your Welcome. My Sister got the game, a day before release, and right away when you start the game, gives you the option to chose the subtitles and audio.
PhewI have no idea what I'll choose, the dub sounds pretty solid from what I've heard.
Namco Bandai translations usually tend to be pretty good, even when they're phoning it in.
Not Three Laws compliant.Any tips? I picked this up from Gamestop yesterday bu I haven't gotten around to it yet.
The English dub is pretty good! I am very very amused by Drippy's thick Welsh accent and unabashed dropping of slang that I have never actually seen used.
Defend is a very useful command, it is.
i. hear. a. sound.Again, I want to know who chose Drippy's voice. Because seriously, what the what.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI think they were going for a fairy vibe. But most of the fairy legends we have now are from Ireland. It is where Tara is, so they should have given him an Irish accent.

Not Three Laws compliant. At one point Oliver mentions that Drippy's not what he expected a fairy to be like, so maybe the so thick you could stand a fork in it Welsh is a part of that. You'd expect an Irish accent, therefore you got a Welsh one.
i. hear. a. sound. How do they go from Osaka-ben to Welsh? Surely the cultural analog would be Scottish Highlander or Doric?
On fairy legends coming only from Ireland? Nope. Scots had the Bain-Sidhe as well. And the Selkie. We also share the legend of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fionn_mac_Cumhaill

I just meant that Ireland has more surviving fairy stories. Quality is an argument I won't go into here.
Not Three Laws compliant.Oh ok. More on topic, six or so days to release. Whoopee!!!
Is that the European date?
Not Three Laws compliant.Yup. February the 1st.
Because of a promise I made, I have to wait until the 2nd. So I'm in an odd situation where I got it at the Canadian release, but I have to wait until after the European release to do anything about it.
Not Three Laws compliant.Hmm. A promise is a promise. Which are mutable. Then again, reputation is what others know you as, and honor is something that you know of yourself, or something like that. (I admit I am freely paraphrasing something from the Vorkosigan Saga there).
As far as I know, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, I don't see the game slipping beyond 1st of February.
Er...my friend who's a huge fan of Studio Ghibli and jRPGs in general doesn't have a PS 3. I'm waiting to play it until she visits.
Not Three Laws compliant. So the people who have had their Wizard Edition orders cancelled aren't ever going to get one. "Whoops"
I think this is a US exclusive issue but still... *looks worriedly at inbox*
Man, that sucks. And they won't even bother reproducing those Wizard Edition copies for the ones who preordered.
Woo! 11 hours in and I can finally tame my own familiars. I find myself appreciating this slow pace of gaining gameplay mechanics. Can't put my finger on why, but I like it.
Also, for the record, when you die you have 10% of your gold taken away and go back to the entrance of whatever area you died in. I'm not sure yet if you lose any items you used during the fight that killed you, but I wouldn't doubt it. You get a game over screen, but you don't have to go back to the title screen.

i. hear. a. sound. In the mean time, the TV Tropes page on the game Needs More Love. Has anyone finished the game yet? I haven't bought it but it definitely has my attention.
That's really great news, now all my worries are pretty much put to rest.
I have learned that exploring areas that you can open up with spells as soon as you are able results in serious curb stomping. That was mean, Level 5. Not unexpected, but really mean.
Edit: Okay, there is no excuse for punishing me just because I went up a hill, Level 5! There's a cave there! It's RIGHT THERE! I can kill everything else on the map! But I go up the hill to get to it and everything on that hill can near kill me. You wound me. Right here in my adventurer's heart.
Also, I like the alchemy genie.

i. hear. a. sound.
Oh thank you thank you thank you.
I may give the English dub a whirl but I bought "The Last Remnant" on Steam for chrimbo and binned the English option pretty much after the first save point for the Japanese audio option, and preferred it.
