The whole original series is now available for free on Youtube, in case anyone wants to see what all the fuss is about.
Not just the original series, Crystal too.
And before anyone asks, this is absolutely official. Viz Media put a bunch of anime out to watch for free on YouTube.
The original 200 episodes?
Yup, all of 'em.
Just realized that of all the Sailor Guardian intros, Saturn was the only one introduced having stumbled and on the ground. :(

New theme music also a boxI wanna make a question for Di C dub fans. I want to know what Serena says in the opening narration of the "A Friend In Wolf's Clothing" episode. It is episode 20 in Di C and 24 in the Japanese version.
"On Sailor Moon today, Molly...Neflyte.A dangerous choice when other henchmen of the Negaverse Arrive determined to destroy him!"
I want to know what was said between the words "Molly" and "Neflyte".
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. You know, I always wish there was a joke where during the moment where Chibi Usa and Hotaru meet again (after the latter has both been revived and aged up to the same age as the former) they both stop for a moment and measure each others height when they realized it's the same.
Like, the fact that Hotaru is a bit younger now feels like something that should get lampshaded just a bit.
One Strip! One Strip! They never meet again in the 90's anime since Chibi Usa was blamed for the ratings slump and was Put on a Bus. I really wanted a scene like that too!

She is on The Scrappy trope so yes!
EDIT: Wait no she isnt never mind.

So are people liking Crystal more than the 90s anime? I get the feeling that Crystal might move things a little too fast, and that have the more human/funny moments the 90s version had would be more preferable. Hmm…

Nope. Not at all. People love the 90's anime way more. I dont know where you heard that.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.prolly a circle of manga purists.
More people are familiar with the 90's anime than the manga, in my experience.
I think what people like about the 90's anime is that it combines Monster of the Week adventures with Slice of Life stories. So even when there's "filler" its often seen less like filler and more like just how the anime experience goes.
...I promise, I am getting back to it eventually, I'm just focused on gaming and other shows right now. '_'
The 90's anime made it clear that the Senshi had lives outside of being Senshi.
Disgusted, but not surprisedThe 90's anime gave the non-Moon related characters actual character.
Just a note, the free Sailor Moon access only applies if you're in the States. Because Viz, as always, says fuck you Canada.
Oissu!God this is so fucking sad. Canada has loved Sailor Moon from the moment it was first dubbed. This sucks!
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. For a while, at least. By the final season, the anime had pretty much ditched anyone that wasn't a pretty solider, just like the manga. It simply took them a little longer to do it.
And I notice that the anime tended to... sand off parts of the Senshi's characters. Like, did you know Makoto is deathly afraid of airplanes because her parents died in a plane crash? Because I sure didn't until I read the manga. Naoko Takeuchi really rushed the story, but she did try to put in character beats for each of the Senshi that the '90s anime proceeded to largely ignore — when they weren't throwing them out entirely and writing a brand-new character altogether (looking at you, Rei).
Controversial opinion, but anime Rei is better anyways. And the Starlights are a thousand times better in the anime than the manga. And the minor villains are for the most part better in the anime, they get actual character arcs rather than being simple cannon fodder.

Oissu!Frankly, manga and anime Rei are so different from each other, with completely different character interactions, that there's little point in even comparing them.
Hell, I doubt they would like each other if they met.

Did Makoto's parents really not come up in the anime? Cause I feel like I knew that when I was just watching the anime. I know Rei's father wasn't, and I think Ami's parents were only vaguely hinted at.
That is also because it has a pretty big twist of its own later on that I wont spoil.
