I think it’s pretentious, but also that’s not a bad thing? It’s something I’ve definitely seen people do irl.
If you can't be pretentious at 18 when can you be pretentious etc.
Just as to add to the Nintendo thing, we were in the twilight year of the DS and the 3DS was just a few months out from initially launching in Japan when the comic first came out.
Also, the comic came out in September 2010.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."When you're surly and old with an unfalsifiable invented history to give your pretention credence and bury your wasted life. But that's a lot harder than it used to be.
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger.Oh wow, Mike really did do a number on Walky. Like, Walky has a lasting complex over how Mike treated him now.
A stunted manchild with trust issues.
Booster may be the best thing for Walky right now.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117You may be right. Booster might be intrusive and a bit arbitrary but at least they're earnest and plain faced about everything they do. You seemingly don't have to second guess Booster like you constantly have to do for Mike, there's no double meaning with Booster because they're eager to TELL you the meaning.
Well, for what it's worth, at least Boomer is being more decent than Mike. Not a high bar, but a bar nonetheless.
I love Booster so much. I’m enjoying all this nuance with how and why they can be abrasive, and how they aren’t always like that. They do genuinely seem to want to be friends with Walky, for instance.
Yeah that's true. It does make an interesting dynamic, hopefully a positive one.
Speaking of positive changes...What the fuck...
It's time for a funky flip.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.I know this is a frequent comedic trope but such a drastic change in personality would be genuinely unnerving.
Well someone woke up on the right side of bed today.
Love the little bait and switch at the end, though.
x5/6 glad to see some Booster positivity!
And for the new comic, she's is at risk of returning to being my favourite character again.
I imagine Sarah is experimenting with being cheerful. She's got a few things to be positive about — since the low point of the kidnapping, , things may be moving forward fairly well for her, and Joyce's loss of faith and mild depression means that Sarah has a far less aggravating room-mate now. So, if she's going to be the upbeat one in that room, she might as well lean into it.
Of course, she's still only going to be cheerful and positive on the Sarah scale.
= Spindriver =I legitimatly suspect that Joyce showing this new side of herself is good for Sarah's mental health? Simply because Joyce usual optermisim is something Sarah struggles to navigate, but Joyce being pissy for a change allows Sarah to relax into a dynamic she's more familiar with when it comes to people.
I suspect so. I mean, I'd find old-Joyce bloody difficult to live with, and I'm a lot less misanthropic and pessimistic than Sarah. The new Joyce may be a whiny little twit, but she's less likely to drive Sarah to sick fury.
= Spindriver =Considering current Joyce reverts back to being super whiny and pissy about any minor changes, I'm not sure she's that much better.
Why DON'T people wear their glasses into the shower?
The biggest issue is the drying off of the glasses and making sure there is no residue, which can be a pain in day-to-day to deal with.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Also, they get in the way of washing your face and hair.
Honestly, I like the idea behind Booster's little project, but that they still act insufferable about it is annoying. As is Walky just being a massive child about the whole thing. But quite frankly I don't think I expect much better from either character anymore.
