There are several examples here that neglect the whole 'Character knows their actions are evil but is unable to stop commiting them' aspect, and are just villains who have some form of excuse, but no remorse for their actions. Funniest and stupidest example is Cujo, who is a freaking dog. Suggest cleanup and reminder added to main article that the character has to know they are evil, or else be commiting evil acts against their will in some way to qualify.
...Okay, maybe Cujo qualifies in a doggy way, but Loki is an evil dick, not a tragic villain.
