love the show, love the characters, love the villains. Was there ever anything wrong with this programme? (serious question)

It was definitely a highlight from my childhood

It's about time this topic came up. I love this show too.

Today I watched a S3 episode on Netflix. "Forever Phantom". Amorpho is actually pretty unique in that he leaves Danny on good terms.

[up] I think that´s the only episode of Danny Phantom which I haven´t seen. Any good?

[up] Sure, especially when you compare it to the rest of Season 3 which had pretty silly villains.

The "villain" of that episode was a good one - he was a Trickster Archetype: devious and full of mischief but not actually evil.

I've been on a Danny Phantom kick recently. It was a great show - I don't think there was any episode, character or otherwise I didn't think was fun to watch.

But y'know, I always kind of thought they ought to have followed up the "Jazz has ghost envy" thing. Might've made an interesting episode plot.

<shrug>

I don't have a problem with them (Vortex is one of my favorite villains in the show, mostly due to his A God Am I personality, and Nocturn I like because of the kind of threat he is), but maybe it's because they came immediately after a series of extremely good villains.

I didn't like Vortex because of his over(under?)whelming simplicity. Whereas the previous villains were a gruff bounty hunter of ghosts, a youth-obsessed vixen who feeds off of humans' emotions, and a teenage girl who (allegedly) commited suicide, "the ghost of weather" just sounds dumb to me. Did weather die? But like you said, I'm sure I would have liked him better if the other villains hadn't been awesome.

The same can sort of be said for Undergrowth, the "ghost of plants", I guess.

[up][up][up] You should see 'Forever Phantom'. One of my favorite episodes.

I don't see why people don't like season 3. For me it was great. To tell you the truth nearly ALL characters are on my favorite character list. Amorpho, Nocturn, Vortex, and Undergrowth among them. I like them all.

Who do you think´s a better villain? Vlad or Dark Danny

I´m inclined to side with Vlad, just cuz he´s a Magnificent Bastard

Vlad for me. I like everyone like I said before, but Vlad ranks higher then Dark Danny.

[up][up][up]I think people don't like the season 3 villains like Undergrowth, Nocturne, and Vortex so much because they were like, overpowered ghosts with rule over a specific domain. Prior to the season the ghosts weren't so big in scale, and became more like generic monsters rather than "ghosts."

Personally I don't mind, I liked the season but I can see what the beef people has with them is.

I just found episodes from the show in my hardrive yesterday :3 I remember the exact day I saw the show for the first time (The night it premiered, right after the Kids Choice Awards for 2004!) and it was sooooo cool. Loved the average teenager -> Hero thing, one of my favorites, and I thought that the fact that it was with ghosts was very interesting as well. Season 2 is my favorite, but I do think episodes like Claw of the Wild, D-Stabilized, and Infinite Realms in season 3 were very good, I can't say if there was an episode I didn't like at all, but I do think some from the first season were kind of slow, as well as some from the third.

I was wondering if I should go deep into my Danny Phantom history. I didn't see it until a week or two after it's first airing and saw it in the evening. This was when I was first hooked and I liked Danny, but once Vlad's first episode came he became my favorite. It wasn't until 'My Brother's Keeper' when one of my most longest favorite character runs happened. I got into the episode late so I missed the beginning and one ghost sort of stood out for me. I didn't even know his name at the time and thought of him as 'the green blob that transforms'. During that first day I couldn't forget him yet I still didn't know his name. I came up with a fan name, but that didn't last long. I mentioned the character on a Danny Phantom forum and one person came to my rescue and revealed this characters name to me...Bertrand. For several weeks after that I shut myself off from the rest of the series and only saw reruns of 'My Brother's Keeper' because I was just so obsessed with Bertrand. Then I found myself fading away from the fandom...until I discovered 'Doctor's Disorders' during December a year later. When Bertrand showed up in it old habits broke lose and I was obessed AGAIN. Yet...that didn't last long seeing I began to see more episodes and more characters were finally learned who I didn't know from my rest of season 1-beginning of season 2 downtime.

These days I'm not obessed with one character seeing there are just TOO MANY I like. Yet my true adventure into the fandom didn't begin until I was a well known Bertrand fan on a Danny Phantom forum.

And that's my DP history.

I'm even getting the urges to work on an old idea I've had. I was part of a just for fun role play on this Danny Phantom Forum (yes, I played Bertrand). I've been trying to plan a Danny Phantom mega crossover for Fanfiction.net. I think if I worked on a few things such as binding together some new things this could be good. If I hadn't revealed to every how much of a Bertrand fan I used to be (and am again for some reason). These days its more his human like ghost form instead of his true form.

I didn't care for Danny Phantom so much. I had some trouble with Fairly Oddparents too, and I think the reason is that I just find the characters all too unlikeable. I watch it, and there's just no one that I'm rooted for or that I like to see on screen. I know there are times when the characters are kind to each other and treat each other well, but too often the humor in both shows is derived from people being mean/selfish to one another, and I don't laugh at that very often anymore.

I know this isn't a popular opinion though, most of the people I've talked to love both Danny Phantom and Fairly Oddparents for a variety of reasons. When I recently was watching them, though, the characters were just too unappealing and I couldn't just sit back and enjoy the show.

I love this show. Sometimes I wake up early in the summer (i.e. before noon) because it plays two episodes at 11.

My favorite character is and likely always will be Skulker. I love all his episodes (especially 'Life Lessons' and 'Micro Management').

I never had that much of an issue with S3, besides 'Girl's Night Out (except for the Skulker bit), and 'D-Stabilized' is one of my favorite episodes of the whole show.

'Urban Jungle' was the episode that kinda got me sucked into DP. I remembered seeing it a few years ago and thinking it was a movie, and I kept looking for it. Once I saw it again, I went back and watched every single episode.

I changed my story plans recently. One of my major ideas was a fanmade fourth season, but it isn't that good seeing I don't have too many episode ideas unless I make it a mega crossover, which is my second major Danny Phantom based idea. Having a lot of other cartoons, anime, video games, and more merge with it. If I put both ideas together...

I've decided to merge the two ideas into one story called Phantom Destiny. It takes place after Phantom Planet. It's not a complete fourth season and more like a whole new 'show' seeing things have changed that wouldn't go with the series as good now that it's ended. For one thing it'll have all new villians, but don't think the familar villians won't be used. They will be joining the good guys to make room for the new villians. This goes for the villians of other fandoms as well. Everyone will be working together to bring down a much more powerful enemy.

It's still a Danny Phantom story and its characters get more of the important roles and are looked up to by those of other worlds. That's all you need to know about this idea.

I sent this to a few people, but if anyone can come up with something I'd be great.

I'm working on planning a Danny Phantom/Pokemon crossover using seventeen characters: Danny, Ember, Ghostwriter, Johnny 13, Nocturn, Aragon, Skulker, Bertrand, Technus, Vlad, Walker, Freakshow, Dani, Amorpho, Hotep-Ra, Youngblood, and Jazz.

I'm working on giving them each two types to specailize in. One being their main type and the second being a secondary type. I was wondering if you'd help me deside on fitting types. Each type can only be used twice. ONCE as a main type and ONCE as a secondary type meaning only two characters may share one type. For example. One character gets the ghost type as their signature type while another character gets the ghost type as their secondary type.

So can you help me with this? Get back to me when you can. Just write them out like this:

Character name: (Main type goes here) and (secondary type goes here)

Remember each type can only be used twice. Only two characters should share a type. The list of seventeen characters is above. Hope you can help.

Yes, both good guys and bad guys will be on the same side.

Danny: Normal and Ghost

Ember: Fire

Skulker: Steel

Vlad: Dark and Ghost

Aragon: Dragon

Technus: Electric

Hotep-Ra: Ground (sandy Egypt deserts)

Youngblood: Water (stretching it, but he was a pirate in his debut)

Ghostwriter: Ice

Amorpho: Psychic

Walker: Fighting

Coming up with one type is hard enough. Forget the secondary types, or just make them all Ghost except for Jazz and Freakshow. Characters with obvious types like Frostbite and Undergrowth should be in this.

I needed a not so likely group so I settled on those seventeen. Everything is already planned since one of my PM messages was answered last night. I'm going with what Crewe gave me.
