Looks damn good. Plus the extras are looking nifty. AND AC 3 remastered... ehhh
Oh Elias Toufexis (Adam Freaking Jensen) voices a character in the game. Here's a (possibly) spoiler link to a tweet showing off an early cut scene:

Yeah, freaking epic. I'm pumped.
I'm not too psyched about how the events seems more depicted Like in 300 rather than how they happened. Leonidas' speech about the Persians "coming to enslave them", while it could be entirely in-universe propaganda, raises red flags. As does Leonidas acting like he knows this is a suicide mission.

Huh now I have a reason to get the season pass.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I mean, depending on which "version" of the story you read, Leonidas kinda knew it was a suicide mission cause of course they consulted the Oracle at Delphi beforehand.

Secret SignatureTrue The depiction of Sparta does seem to be more 300 than history. Though as mentioned before in the thread, there are hints as to their true, more brutal and intolerant nature
The games do sometimes gloss over things and that's a failing on their part. But they have been pretty good overall at at least informing around the true background of things.
It's a me, Marios!
Secret SignatureYep, it's free if you sign up for the season pass apparently.
I mean, I'm never playing through AC 3 again. Appreciate the remasters but I rarely replay open world games.
I can see why people are bemoaning a move to it being RPG - your moves and abilities were entirely related to your tools in prior games. So, having some invisible RNG and movelist dictate by a skill tree feels like it's distancing itself from the "real world" setting.
It still looks damn good though.
3 weeks!
I am not particularly thrilled with the move towards RPG like mechanics and characterization, but I'll give Odyssey a chance because Origins was great.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Odyssey will get a discovery mode as well. That is great, the one in Origins was a lot of fun.
There will also be two play modes, Guided and Exploration. Guided mode will be a more traditional mission system with the game always telling you where to go next, while Exploration mode will rely more on the player exploring for themselves and finding out where to go next, similar to Breath of the Wild.
And here is a very interesting review of Origins that places the game in the wider real world history of Egypt.

Optimism is a duty. The only problem with Exploration type gameplay is when you put the game down for a good while and have to come back to it with no clue where you need to go or where anything is. Waypoints are not such a terrible thing.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youI like that it's an option - so not a core part. By the sounds of it, each character gives you a detailed description of where to go, which adds immersion. If you have waypoints then it's incidental detail; otherwise it's akin to how Morrowind did it.
More options on how to play is a good thing.
I assume you could always switch modes temporary if you get stuck like that. Previous games allow you to switch difficulty mid-game, after all.
Optimism is a duty.Good point. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild had a rather simple overarching plot and a minimum of side quests, so it's much easier to figure out what you were doing if you ignored it for a few months. But if Odyssey has as many sidequests as Origins, then it's going to be much harder.
You still get a quest log.
And the launch trailer.

Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Link is broken.
All those review quotes seem a bit premature.
I already preordered, by the way.
Here are two launch trailers I found:

Optimism is a duty. The US and UK trailers are apparently markedly different. Liking them both though.
I did giggle that they included a review comment from THE DAILY STAR... but no UK gaming media outlets. I find that.... interesting.
Pre-ordered, arriving on the 2nd, we shall see!

Hey, did you see that? That looked like ACTUAL weather in that clip. Something that was very notably absent from Origins (and most non-pirate games, come to think of it).
