I did exactly that, but it started me with 0 credits and no Pilot Points.
After poking around the GameFAQs boards, it looks like you have to clear both the SRX and PTX routes on one file to unlock New Game+. I guess they really wanted to make sure everyone got that fresh start feel no matter what route you picked. Sorta like how Touya and Calvina don't share PP in SRW J except it hits everyone.
I'll probably do a complete ATX run of OG 1 one of these days, but I'm burned out on that game for right now.
Perosnally, I love the ATX route, mostly because Kyosuke and excellen and Tasuku are my fave OG pilots (until Arado, Seolla, and Ibis show up, anyhow). The only downside to it being you dont get the SRX unit permanently. Then again, the upside is SRX formation is still damned high powered and can be executed 3 times a turn
as for my current run of J, finally got the Danaan and therefore the awesome Full metal Panic opening. Now to survive this stage >_>

J never gave me nearly as much trouble in its closing chapters as OG 1 did.
Septaguint is a bitch, yeah. tbh I never even managed to get his stage unlocked until the ps2 remake..where its a tad easier to beat him or Judecca due to having a lot more features like the twin system or SP regen
doublepost for progress!
Beat Og2nd, almost done with Jigoku-hen (good lord is defy fate route a pain), still slowly working through J, but soon to get back to it once Jigoku-hen is done (and then also gotta work on getting the true ending on O G2nd @_@)
..is that a Virgola Glory and Gunleon upgrade? :O
Man, I really wanna play Z, but of course I can't because there's no translation! I guess I'll have to be contented with reading L Ps.
Speaking of which, did any games outside of Alpha Gaiden and J get fan-translated?
I ship it.Don't limit your own enjoyment out of a perceived inability to understand the language; playing a traditional SRW is easy. Sure there's lots of stuff you'll never use because you can't remember what they're for, but you will always remember the basics through sheer repetition.
It's not like trying to make sense of Scramble Commander. gawwd I hated that one
If you really want to play Z, there's a story guide on Game FA Qs which gives you a detailed summary of each and every mission, as well all of the story bits inbetween. There are also guides for Z2, Z3, and many other SRW games, most of which are done by the same guy. They really helped me understand Z2's story when I was playing it, and while it's not the same as a full translation, it still gets the job done.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundThat was how I got through and played W. Although, at some point I confess I closed out the story guide because I stopped caring about the OG plot, and the only shows in it I was familiar with at the time were Gao Gai Gar, FMP, and Mazinkaiser.
...incidentally, I'm thinking of giving K and/or L a shot next, if I don't replay J or W first.... but I'm having trouble with using/understanding the pairup/squad concept/gimmick. How the heck does that work? That it seems to be forced (unlike pairing up in Fire Emblem Awakening) really does make things a bit harder when you don't have a menu translation handy...
IIRC Aeon Genesis has translated a few of the Super Famicom games (3 and 4, I think) that you can play with SNES emulator. Beyond that, I think that their Alpha 1 translation is mostly done, but not done enough for them to do any kind of release with it.

Don't forget Alpha Gaiden; that one's fully translated, and while the plot might seem overwhelming at first due to not having played through Alpha 1, things settle down once you get sent to the future, and the new shows start playing out. On top of that, it's probably got some of the most original plot-line material out of any non-OG game, (and by 'original', I mean 'not having come from one of the shows',) while still using a lot of characters from the show in that original material, including making Tatsuya the de-factor protagonist, which is awesome. It's a pretty kick-ass game, basically.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundThe other guy mentioned Alpha Gaiden himself along with J on "games other than [x] that have been translated", which is why I intentionally didn't bring it up.
L is probably better than K. I haven't played K, but either some troper has a hate on for it or it's genuinely terrible. The pairing mechanic is very similar to the one in Z3.1 if you've played that, except that units have partner bonuses instead of optional parts. The bonuses get larger as you upgrade the units and some even gain new ones (like Combattler V getting a barrier). Also, the subunit isn't restricted to a single assist attack if I remember right.
You'll probably get the hang of it after a stage or three, like I did.
I've played J, W, OG 1, a handful of stages in L, about 30 or so stages in Alpha 1, and IIRC ten or so stages in Alpha Gaiden. And a couple of stages of Advanced.
I haven't played any of the PSP games because I don't have the money to import and I don't have a manly enough computer to emulate.
One thing about L only allowing you to deploy mechs you've placed in pair units is that it lets you essentially dump units you don't like. Every SRW has units that are either too weak to keep up (GMs, non-main cast from Super Robot series) or pilots I just don't like (Wu Fei from Gundam Wing, Kouichi from Linebarrels). It's nice to trim the deployment list and drop the people I never use.
I'm nearly finished with Alpha, just have to psych myself up for the final battle, and there's one stretch near the beginning where you can have something like seven or eight GunEZs from Victory Gundam as half your roster. It was such a pain keeping track of who was in each one and they weren't very good units. I'm so glad that was just temporary.
After watching that video I now pray that they will include the gay piano scene.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.K's major problems are generally twofold. Overall its a fun game with some neat units like the Zoids, a general rarity in SRW.
Its that the partner up system, not only has a clunky as shit interface, but actively nerfs you by taking away the combo attack ability, and Mist can kind of come off like a hypocritical jackass (and thats not new for an SRW original..but generally they learn from it. Mist doesnt really seem to)
also, Beat J Calvina route. Now torn between starting a Touya run or playing through good ol L or W >_>

Ah, soooooooo many memories coming back...
Man, Calvina's route was friggin' intense. I mean, I was all over the emotional map with that one. Just... completely and absolutely amazing.
Still need to do Toya route one of these days.
Yeah. I loved her story. Also I loved how ridiculously overpowered the Granteed Dracodeus was. Good lord what a monster.
Settled on playing my beloved copy of W again because I now have a story translation for it :D. Restarted though to have some challenge.
Hah, I used Granteed too! ...although due to personal preference, it wasn't half as OP as Burning Gundam was. (nor Genesic Gao Gai Gar in W)
(is still baffled that anyone would put angsting military lady Calvina in anything other than Bellzelute)
Still haven't used Granteed. Touya doesn't fit in it either IMO. He is Coustwell's baby.

I distinctly remember a New Game+ for OG 1. Just load the save file made after clearing the game and you get the New Game character selection screen. Open the menu during the first stage and you should have many millions of credits and a ton of PP on pilots.
