Might not have been big enough to show up at the conference proper, but we got an E3 trailer! No word on a release date yet though.

Coming out in Europe November 30, Japan December 1, and USA December 2. Glad they eeked out a 2016 release and probably the best time for one too.

Looks like you're gonna have to wait a little longer to play Gravity Rush 2. The game's been delayed to January 20th.

But look on the bright side— more time to get reacquainted with the original! And the previously premium DLC for GR2 is getting released for free to make up for the delay.

I recently saw a playthrough of the first Gravity Rush by a You Tuber I'm subscribed to. It's a really good game. Kat's an awesome protagonist. I wish I had a PS 4 to play that game.

Platinumed Gravity Rush 2, and holy crap, what a roller coaster ride of emotions that game was. Kinda sad that Word of God confirmed that this will be the last game starring Kat, but at least the development team made sure her last adventure was a memorable one.

Played Gravity Rush 2.

MAN this game is ART ART ART. Like i'M BLOWN away. The art design is top tier, these girls are fun, cool, and ooze charm and style. Kat is one of the best female game character designs ever. Her expressions and costumes are such a joy to behold! The world is breathtaking and imaginative, it feels like I'm flying through a dream. The gravity mechanics, wild not always wieldly and even slightly clumsy truly capture the feel of flying and moving around in this game is fun enough to where I sometimes just find myself flying around aimlessly.

The sidequests are, like most sandboxy-games, a mixed bag. The stealth missions are the worst generally, with the gentleman one and first reporter one being the biggest offenders. I did like they sort of fleshed out Kat's integration with the city's people though, and some were pretty fun(the newspaper and flyer one) or funny(the Augene one). The combat is kind of janky but also feels really cool when it clicks and some of the bosses are pretty epic as a result, even if the camera takes some serious effort to keep up with the action.

As someone who never played the first, the story was a bit hard to understand at some points but never felt overwhelming or too confusing. I do want to buy Remastered after finishing up this game though.

Aside from Kat my favorite character is Kali, I love her fighting style, costume, and she had a fun fight. Plus it's pretty sexy how she picks up kat off the ground and tosses her. Probably my favorite boss in the game.

Yeah, GR 2 was a great time. I was basically hoping for just more of the sheer fun that I got from GR 1, and I got that and more. Almost everything about the control was as good or better than the first game (one exception being Gravity Sliding; no longer being able to make sharp corners is a bummer), and the Styles just kick it right over the top. I liked most of the side missions (or at least appreciated the variety), the boss fights were so much better this time around, costumes and camera mode are a lot of fun, and I love that they give you the option to replay any and all missions at will. To be honest, I'd call this one of my all time favorites even if the only improvement was the addition of Lunar Style; I cannot get enough of leaping off of buildings like that.

I wouldn't mind one day getting a GR 3, but I agree that Kat's story is complete. Which is not to say that every loose thread and unresolved mystery is done with. For example, a GR 3 could delve into what the heck the true nature of the Nevi really is, and how the Guardian animals like Dusty are connected to them.

Beat the game, what a ride. The ending was really nice although I can't say that I like how the final villains didn't show up until like 80% into the game. However if you treat it like a comic book series, you can think of it as a final arc instead and I guess that makes it a little better? Also I didn't feel elektricitie(what a dumb name lol) was fleshed out enough, despite being one of the coolest fights in the game. The final boss was pretty easy but the set piece of it was cool. I feel kind of sad it's ended :[ What a delightful game.

Adding an update, but remastered is on sale right now! it's about 12 bucks, 9 bucks for Plus members. I know GR 2 was on sale as well and I suspect it might be a free Plus game later on.

Funnily enough i just replayed GR 2 and the stealth missions were so much easier this time around haha. Maybe playing spiderman made them more tolerable for me :P

One thing I think is neat about Elektricitie is that when you fight her, it’s two of the four fundamental forces of the universe (gravity and electromagnetism) clashing. Makes me wish she was a more fleshed-our character.

After playing it off and on for... wow... years, I finally finished Gravity Rush 1 on the PS 4, moving on to Gravity Rush 2.

I like it. I think the thing that piqued me the most was the theming. Gravity Rush has very anime-esque design and character concepts, but narratively and characterization wise is more similar to Western style superhero stories (especially in the middle stint of the game, and the side-missions) than I was expecting, making the whole thing feel like a unique genre fusion. It only really gets away from that in missions that take place away from Hekseville, and even then not really. It's very interesting.

Gameplay wise, it's really great and unique - albeit with holes (Kat's greatest enemies are not the Nevi but the camera, random bits of geometry and a somewhat subpar map system) that can be excused by its Vita origins (plus being pretty old at this point). I basically powered through it because I liked it and wanted to get to Gravity Rush 2 already, so here I am.

Edit: Meanwhile the second game so far reminds me of Crystal Chronicles. More genre hopping!

SUDDENLY A MOVIE!

From Scott Free Productions and directed by Anna Mastro (Secret Society of Second Born Royals) with a script by Emily Jerome (Panopticon).

Uh...okay?

[up] Yeah, kind of an anomaly there, if I'm honest.

My best theory is that someone behind the scenes was pushing for a movie adaptation if only to warrant the IP's existence?

Part of me wants to hope this will be animated, but when has Scott Free Productions done an animated movie? But hey, at least the director and writer are female. Silver linings, right?

It's odd alright. And given that GR's developer Japan Studio is no more, I can't see this attempt leading to more games regardless if it's successful or not.

Well, I finally own a Sony console, meaning I can finally play the game that almost made me get a Vita... but ultimately didn't, because I could only justify buying one handheld at the time and Nintendo has a greater number of exclusives that I'm into. I'm actually going into this series pretty much blind too, knowing nothing about it outside of that demo I played over a decade ago, but I'm definitely not regretting the purchase so far.

In the middle of Remastered right now, and enjoying it quite a bit. So much of it brings a smile to my face: the traversal, the faux-French gibberish, Kat's own lovely personality, etc. Picked up both Remastered and 2 in one fell swoop, so I might jump straight into that one once I 100% the first game.

(Also, sorry if the thread bump made anyone think there was an update on the movie or an announcement for a third game/spiritual successor. Just wanted to share that I'm officially a fan of the series now, after years of using Kat as an avatar on other sites. [lol])

Because someone made a GR thread when this was buried:

Very early test footage for the live-action movie got leaked onto Twitter.

Looks weird plus I'm still bitter that it's live-action instead of animated, especially when Sony Pictures Animation is, y'know, striking gold for a while now? But it's still early. (But don't hesitate to shoot feedback regardless.)
