First thing's first: KEEP. THIS. SHIT. CIVIL. If you can't talk about race without resorting to childish insults and rude generalizations or getting angry at people who don't see it your way, leave the thread.
With that said, I bring you to what can hopefully be the general thread about race.
First, a few starter questions.
- How, if at all, do you feel your race affects your everyday life?
- Do you believe that white people (or whatever the majority race in your area is) receive privileges simply because of the color of their skin. How much?
- Do you believe minorities are discriminated against for the same reason? How much?
- Do you believe that assimilation of cultures is better than people trying to keep their own?
- Affirmative Action. Yea, Nay? Why or why not?
Also, a personal question from me.
- Why (in my experience, not trying to generalize) do white people often try to insist that they aren't white? I can't count the number of times I've heard "I'm not white, I'm 1/4th English, 1/4th German, 1/4th Scandinavian 1/8th Cherokee, and 1/8th Russian," as though 4 of 5 of those things aren't considered "white" by the masses. Is it because you have pride for your ancestry, or an attempt to try and differentiate yourself from all those "other" white people? Or something else altogether?

Actually, this got me thinking. How often is white female police officers harassing, assaulting and/or killing reported compared to their male counterparts?
Some information is definitely missing with that shooting. The version of events presented just doesn't really make sense.
They should have sent a poet. What doesn’t make sense? A drunk cop went home, ended up at the wrong door, thinking someone had locked her out she drunkly demanded entry then upon spotting a black man answering she killed him becuse she fears black men.
When her fellow police arrived they tried to make the whole thing go away and cover it up, because they’re dirty and care much more about her reputation than the life on an innocent black man.
It’s horrifying and terrible, but it all makes sense and matches with what we know about US police culture.
"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranFrankly I don't really buy the drunk angle, that's based off one witness who said they thought she looked drunk afterwards, which most people who have just been involved in a shooting do. Speaking as someone who's worked in law enforcement the whole story just sounds far too unbelievable and inconsistent.
My best guess is that we're going to find out down the line it was premeditated somehow.
They should have sent a poet.I find the story makes sense enough as described by so many people ended up going to the wrong house while drunk in university it wouldn't surprise me.
There were even a story of some one waking up to find a stranger passed out on there couch after they tried to come home from a party.
In case anyone missed the whole Doo M Eternal controversy, which is the whole point of it not being a controversy, Shaun did a whole video over how the controversy over Doo M Eternal being anti-immigration and anti-SJW is entirely fabricated by Alt-Reichers, for the sake of being outraged.
I kinda figured it was, because to be honest I never heard any one complain about it, just them complain people were complaining about it.
Well it's not that there aren't people who complained about it, I for one rolled my eyes when I heard the "joke" but it's not nearly as large or concerted as they claimed.

"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnAs one of the people who weren't fond of it I can say with some certainty that almost no-one was outraged. That's just a lie propagated by the alt-right, as that video showed.
It's just that comparing Demons to immigrants is rather messed up considering the political climate, hence why /pol/ and other fascists were happy about it.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnThis is literally the first I have heard of any such "outrage".
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Yeah, it was one of the Alt-right's manufactroversies.
There were some people (like myself) who viewed the joke as problematic and the alt-right took that and spun it into some kind of big controversy to get outraged over.
Fairly normal for them.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnHonestly it's just projection at work, they get more offended by any thing then the left does.
See: battlefeild, ghost busters, star wars, wolfenstein and probably many more I am forgetting.
Honestly I thought the "mortally-challenged" joke was kinda funny. Not gut-busting, award-winning comedy or anything, but... chuckle-worthy.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Sure I can see that.
The problem though is when they did that joke and then followed it up with "Earth is the melting pot of the universe".
Do you see how both of those together paint a rather problematic picture? Obviously it's not anything to get outraged over but I for one am not fond of humor that intentionally or otherwise compares demons to refugees/immigrants, especially considering that the Trump administration has been putting children in camps.

"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnYeah, I wasn't sure how I felt about the melting pot bit, besides thinking it was an unnecessary tack-on. It was one of those "if it had just stopped right there" jokes, the kind that felt like it had another punched clumsily welded to the first punch line.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."One of the tactics I've noticed is that expressing genuine frustration is equated by people to be "outrage". Doesn't matter how mild or passing it is, it's an emotion of Irrationality, clearly.
Read my stories!I actually saw some of the comments.
Most if not all folks that showed annoyance with the joke were mildly annoyed at worst. They still said the game looked good and fun just that the joke just annoyed em a bit.
I was incredibly fucking annoyed if not pissed off once I saw those alt-right idiots overreacting and acting like the people whom didn't like it were trashing or boycotting the game over the joke (which is most definitely not the case).
Those stupid as fake controversy videos are still popping up in my feeds too. Their is so many dumbasses making them.
Agreed, if it were just that then I wouldn't necessarily have minded. After-all that could've just been a parody of corporations trying to appear PC while acting with more malignant motivations, but the melting pot bit is in my view what crossed the line to actively problematic.

Well said.
This perfectly encapsulates their MO, they find some minor or nonexistent offense at something which they label it as "outrage" to give the appearance of hysteria and then their gormless fans just lap it all up.
It's the exact same type of outrage machine that includes Fox News and Breitbart, actors who are desperately invested in upholding or reversing the status-quo who try to make themselves appear more reasonable by creating the narrative of some shrieking horde of outraged "SJ Ws" to fight against.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnI was amused with the "Earth is the melting pot of the universe" because, well, everything was literally melting while Hell was blending in with Earth.
I think Bethesda was trying to make UAC underplaying the whole we have unleashed hell on Earth with a positive spin, like their Lazarus project had a positive spin on being exposed to hell energy and being turned into a monster.
But then, like Shaun's interpretation of how corporations like to co-opt progressive speech to further their agendas flew over some heads and instead it became an anti-immigration dog whistle.
Still, it is amusingly hypocritical to see how the Alt-Reichers spent more time complaining about it, than there were complaints over those two lines on a controversy they created.
Inter arma enim silent legesAlt-right assholes are always angry, scared, or both. They always have to find something or someone to hate and/or fear. This is how they can get so easily worked up over just about any fucking thing. And they project that on to others.
I've long since gotten to the point where I dismiss anyone who complains about "SJ Ws". The moment I hear someone use that term unironically, I think "nope".

Disgusted, but not surprisedI think once the game actually comes out, the alt-right are going to become far less charitable towards it. Remember, its being published (albeit not developed) by the same company who was responsible for the last two Wolfenstein games.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Yep. If there's even a whiff of diversity or a suggestion that fascists are assholes, they will scream bloody murder and demand boycotts and rant about the evil "SJW librul agenda".
They are painfully predictable.
I'm still kind of annoyed by the Battlefield V stuff where some assholes tried to claim that preorders were low because the game had women in it.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThere is also people complaining about minorities being in the game even though WW 2 actually had a lot of minorities fighting for America, particularly during D-Day.
I have many issues with the Battlefield series but diversity and no realism is not one of them. The alt-reichters don't fucking know history anyways and are projecting so fucking hard on the re-writing history argument its not even funny. Yes, the EA marketing team are morons that put in a gal with an fully working prosthetic arm in a time were that didn't exist. Yes, EA's marketing team is bunch of idiots.
But don't try to act like your not using that as thinly veiled reasons to try to keep girl cooties and minorities from touching your precious games.
