A while back I saw an article over how a former employee tried to murder one of their former bosses because of how shitty the working environment is.
Personally, I'm not getting the remake, not going to judge anyone who gets it of course.
Besides, I still have the original for PS 2. That one still holds up.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I distinctly remember Konami was going full hog on pachinko...but then everybody panned it. And then the pandemic gave people a legit reason to not go to where pachinko games are.
I think.
I kinda got off the "Fudge Konami" train ages ago, so I might be missing some stuff.
...I mean, I remember some high school student tried to do a bomb threat over Pro Evolution Soccer, but. WHAT?! Jesus.
Back on Metal Gear Solid Triangle, I wish they'd bring back the Guy Savage mini-game. (IYKYK.)

What's easy to forget is that Konami is a company that owns many things beyond video games. Some of it was Pachinko yes, but it also included stuff like health centers and various other non-gaming ventures in Japan.
The Pandemic probably did shift Konami's direction a bit, but the aforementioned Momotaro game was already being developed (and released) in late 2020 and between that and Yu-Gi-Oh releases; those have been the real money makers the past three years for them.

We're not getting the old cast back are we? I'd love to her David Hayter again, and Josh Keaton and Neil Ross, but I think that's a pipe dream at this point.

Hayter has done some cameos as Snake for Super Bomberman R, and from what I remember the push to recast him came more from Kojima than Konami itself, so he might have a decent shot to come back.
Kinda weird it came from Kojima because David Hayter pretty much became synonymous with Snake like almost immediately. I guess Kiefer Sutherland would've made a fine Big Boss...in like a movie or show, but despite that, David is Snake and Big Boss.
Also, don't panic, Xbox users, MGS Triangle will also be on Xbox!
Update: (Decided to look up the delta sign and apparently it's the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet. Funny how a three-sided shape is considered a four, eh?)

Yes, David Hayter has said that his relationship with Kojima was not great due to the recasting and he would happily come back as Big Boss or Solid Snake for other works like an animated movie.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Curious on what the collections (vol 1 because 4 is gonna dedicate an entire dev cycle to port) hold in their versions. I expect the Monkey game from snake eater to be not there again but I wonder if that vampire dream or the secret theater will come back.
I wondered if the reason the secret theater never came back is because those scenes are not rendered in the game, like how in the DMC collection the save image was in an different aspect ratio.
Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down.Yeah Kojima didn't really respect Hayter much.
Even the David Hayter interview in MGS 4 felt like a hit piece in hindsight.
I assume Konami is just going to reuse audio already in MGS 3 to cheap out on voice acting.

Hit piece?

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Hit piece as in that interview felt like it was mocking David Hayter. Especially with how personal it gets at the start.
Here, you be the judge of it. Do watch this in mind with the fact Kojima has been trying to recast Hayter since 3 and they didn't have a good relationship.

Turns out you were right.
But I guess they skipped E3.
EDIT: There's no gameplay footage though....

Also, get ready to be even happier! The original cast is coming back for the remake!
I'm betting they just reuse audio.
And yeah, FOFD was the one who mentioned the rumors of an MGS 3 remake.
Funnily enough there are a couple of tropers who thought it was fake or unlikely right above your comment announcing the remake.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. No, if they mentioned the original cast returning then they'll rerecord it.
Voice actors are paid shit anyway so its not going to be that expensive.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Really?
Gonna be weird hearing David Hayter's more growly voice come out of young Naked Snake. Seems more pragmatic to just reuse audio.
Hell, the only reason Twin Snakes had to be re-recorded was because of audio problems with the technology now. Maybe something happened to the MGS 3 audio files.
Granted, I'm still not very confident this remake will be any good.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. To be fair, it was gravelly even in the original version.
But yes, I'm assuming this is not an update (hence why using the original voice acting would be fine) but is a remake-remake with presumably new scenes and characterization moments.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I mean not as much as his performance in Peace Walker, and that was because he spent so much time doing the Old Snake voice it hurt his voice.
Naked Snake sounds a LOT younger than Hayter's other performances of either Solid Snake and Big Boss.
On the last point, I'll wait before more information to see if it's just a glorified remaster or a straight up remake.

Burning love! One thing I’m very interested to see online when this remake drops is how people will see Big Boss as a character.
The times now are certainly very different. It’s been over 7 years since the Big Boss game.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. As excited as I am for this, I... might just end up getting it second-hand somewhere down the line. I'm still PS5-less, and I still don't trust Konami.
FC: SW-1445-0294-1719/PSN: TekkenGirl4Lyfe/Currently playing: Fire Emblem: The Blazing BladePssst, the OG Metal Gear Solid 3 still holds up.
Seeing that cutscene with Major Ocelot brings back memories.

How much of the dubious work culture is still present at Konami as hard to say (I've seen things online which suggest either possibility), but I would say its a focused company at the moment. They've played it remarkably safe in regards to the home market the past few years and if I had to guess, the Snake Eater remake will be a big project, but possibly not one terribly ambitious unless they've got the likes of Sony footing some of the bill.
Basically they're slowly getting their toes wet again with big projects and if I had to guess hiring smaller studios that seem competent enough to handle some of the Western stuff.
Like a Castlevania semi-revival being done by some plucky developer Konami trusts wouldn't surprise me in the least.
