Just beat 5. Great game for the content, but the story really rests on Kiryu and Sajima to keep it interesting for me. Akiyama and Haruka depend too much on one's opinion of Mirei Park for me to be invested in it, and Shinada has fuck all to do with anything. Hell, Shinada had to force Baba to fight him just so he could have a Final Boss to fight. The sniper issues resolved itself before Shinada got there, meaning he contributes 0 to the actual finale.
I also think Morinaga should have been the True Final Boss instead of Aizawa, but what can you do?
I do think Shinada's own personal storyline is pretty neat but yeah as far as tying it to the overall story goes its by far the weakest link.
So correct me if I'm wrong but this means Daigo kinda skived off his job and caused some chaos just to go to Nagoya and meet a guy who barely remembers him?
I recall that the reason he went there was because of something about figuring out about the secret Yakuza in the city and needing to deal with that because it would hurt the main bad guy's plan?
I guess that makes sense. Wonder why he banked on Shinada remembering him tho?
I don't think he did at the time. Daigo just remembered him because they were on the same baseball team or something and knew about the scandal, and his research into that scandal connected it to the secret Yakuza he was after.
Ahh. Still a bit of a gamble though.
Gonna start properly grinding for True Final Millennium Tower now (only trophy left), mainly going after the Invested Vagabonds in Kamurocho Sewers and also some more rounds of regular Millennium Tower (which is also good for materials). Also upgrading weapons a bit more probably...
Also love the easter egg where you interrupt Shin Amon while he's eating xD (Speaking of, wondering why he's not a Sujimon like the other bosses but I'm guessing they wanted to keep that to enemies you can fight before postgame)
"Leftover items still have value!"It's kind of funny how Yosuke in Judgment looks so pure on the surface but he's quite a sleazy dude lol.
And someone some pages back mentioned the Phantom Thieves homage in there, and yeah I totally see it.
TBH I'm not approving of the 15 year gap in regards to wooing Sana but she's so goddang adorable and likable I did it anyway. Her song is nice too.
I remember wanting to play Yakuza 5 but admittedly the Haruka segments kinda turned me off.
My major problem with Haruka's part of 5 wasn't the gameplay change or Park (despite not liking her even a bit), it's that I had to listen to the same three songs over, and over, and over...
They really needed some more variety there.
Now that I understand completely. I got so tired of "So Much More" that it made me turn down my tv volume so I could replace it with other Yakuza songs during gameplay.
Agree - I love rhythm games and had no issue with the gameplay itself, but only the same three songs (and 4-5 different ones for dance battles) got repetitive
"Leftover items still have value!""Loneliness Loop" on the otherhand, I could listen to all day.
Cool, I'm a console gamer myself and have them all on PS4 but I know many people have been hoping for this

"Leftover items still have value!"Been a while coming but that solves that.
Plus the trailer end card listed Steam as well.
My younger brother got me Yakuza: Like a Dragon as an early X-Mas gift. Gonna have to put playing it on hold until I beat Yakuza 6 but I'm a happy gangster.
I discovered yesterday that Like A Dragon is discounted on PS 4.
Since Cyberpunk turned out to be a buggy, unstable piece of trash I guess I know what I'll be playing.
<_<
>_>
Man I'm SOOOO tempted hahahaha. I gotta finish Judgement first though.

Joe from Clan Creator >>>>>>>> Nagumo from 6 in general.
Just hit Ch. 3 in Like A Dragon. Enjoying it about as much as I'd thought. Combat is charming, even if it isn't the brawler I'm used too.
I really like Ichiban. He's this big, dopey anti-Kiryu.
Probably doesn't hurt that I grew up on Dragon Quest too..
Thank God 6 is over and done with. I heard the story of it was mixed, but I didn't think I would utter those Eight Deadly Words at the end of it all. Good ideas I admit, but there where only 2 characters I somewhat got invested in (Hirose and to a lesser extent Someya) and rest of the cast either irritated me too much or possessed no worthwhile character to speak of. The plot wasn't engaging once I saw how much of it was a wild goose chase prolonged by characters hiding information from Kiryu, and by then the idiocy of the whole affair set in like a horrible stench. The fucking gall to trick me into thinking Kiryu was writing a farewell letter to Haruka instead of Daigo just made my blood boil.
Thankfully, the rest of the game is perfectly fun to play, if lacking in side content due to this being the first Dragon Engine game. In comparison to the main story, I found the Clan Creator side story had a far more compelling story and cast of sidekicks and antagonists. There's a reason I said Joe > Nagumo earlier and I stand by that.
I still need to play Judgement for personal reasons, but I cannot WAIT for Like a Dragon to wash the foulness of this game from my mind.

Eh I like Nagumo, didn't at first but he grew on me a lot. Joe was cool though.
Honestly Y6 has one of my favorite stories of the games I played so far, and I loved the Onimori cast. At first they just seemed like a goon squad but over time I grew to like all of them. I wasn't crazy about the fixer/secret part of the plot but the rest of it I was really engaged in, moreso than 0 TBH which I found rather dull in the beginning and Kiwami 2 which TBH I think has the worst story of the ones I played. I don't get why people like it so much, at least the club cabaret GP was great.

2 is a perfect blend of a more serious and intense crime drama with a lot of hype moments and silliness scattered around. The story is complex without getting confused or lost, which is a major problem 4, 5, and 6 have. The new characters they add, particularly Kaoru Sayama and Ryuji Goda, are some of the most memorable in the series and watching their relationship with Kiryu unfold was basically the last time he got any significant character development until 5 tried to advance it and failed. 2 has the best Final Boss in regards to plot relevance and his relationship tp Kiryu specifically as well, which makes people remember it pretty fondly.
6 runs on an Idiot Plot for me, with how much of it comes back to Haruka making stupid decision after stupid decision. In Yakuza 2, as a 10 year old kid, she was far smarter and much braver. And since her decisions are the lynchpin of everything else I dislike about the plot I can't exactly call it good.
Speaking of throwbacks to 2005...
