I'm only halfway through the book so to avoid spoilers I'm leaving this thread until I finish it. So in the words of the great Arnold Schwarzenegger,I'll be back!

The last battle's curtains will open on stage!...Ok, so he isn't perfect. It's still a good story.

The last battle's curtains will open on stage!Haters gonna hate.
I'm baaaaaaackUh.
I'm willing to debate. That's not being a "hater" if my understanding of the term is correct.
The last battle's curtains will open on stage!Sorry, shouldn't have said that. I would, but i gotta get off for the night.
I'm baaaaaaackI am assuming the "he" here is Poalini, not Eragon (correct me if I'm wrong).
No, he isn't perfect. The problem is, he isn't growing. Eragon (the book, not character) was pretty derivitive. Which is fine, he's a young author. But because he got all the praise, he doesn't feel he has to do any better. Eldest and Brisingr could have easily been one book if all the padding had been cut out. Instead, both wander around the plot and cover a lot of ground without really going anywhere in the big picture. Inheritance is really more of the same.
I am a nobody. Nobody is perfect. Therefore, I am perfect.I enjoy detail. I like it.
I'm baaaaaaackThere is a difference between detail and useless padding.
I am a nobody. Nobody is perfect. Therefore, I am perfect.I'm back! And I have to say that Roran is without a doubt the most badass character in the game. All in favor say aye!
"All worlds begin in darkness and all so end. The heart is no different."-Ansemaye Holy shit did he pull off some badass stunts during the final book.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans. And all without magic too.

This pretty much says it all.
I am a nobody. Nobody is perfect. Therefore, I am perfect.Man that was a mouthful. Phew...
Aside from some silly things, it was pretty legitimate. Makes me realize even more how hard writing is.
I guess when it comes to something like this, it either clicks or it doesn't, and I can't really fault those for whom it didn't, given that stuff.

I am a nobody. Nobody is perfect. Therefore, I am perfect.I wanted to know about Angela.
That's the only reason I plowed through the books.
And what happened two those two girls from way back in the third book. I figured they'd show up as Chekhov's Gunman(s) in the final book.
I am Disappoint, Christopher Paolini. Very Disappoint.
I liked it.
I like Nasuada a lot. I like the science bits. I like Nasuada/Murtagh, and the fact that they didn't end up together. Most of the description I just skipped. I like that everything wasn't just perfect after they killed Galbatorix. Most of this is about Inheritance. I like the Doctor Who references. I like a lot of the bits that don't have anything to do with the plot, like Eragon and Arya sitting around their campfire, when the spirits show up and gild a lily. It's not great. But I still liked it.
He's the Doctor. He could be anywhere in time and space.Wasn't she implied to be the non-human non-elf who sat in the future-sight fumes for a couple hundred(?) years?
I'm.. honestly not sure what you're talking about. Did I miss something?
Galbatorix was chatting to Nasuada about the history of his dungeon, and how it used to be a place that spewed out gasses that showed the future. A woman who was neither elf, dwarf, or human sat there for hundreds of years and soaked it all in. I assumed it was Angela, since she knows a lot of things she shouldn't.
Oh right...
That does make some sense.. Though, I'm sure she would have to have done some traveling before then.
She visited the elves, gambled with dwarves, gained dragon knuckle-bones. The urgals called her Moon-Eater and the were-cats deemed her interesting enough for one to follow her.
Not to mention her fancy sword.
The teenage girl and woman that Eragon blessed were apparently intentional red herrings. Which is annoying, since they were one of the the few interesting mysteries in the story.
"Steel wins battles. Gold wins wars."So I finally got around to finishing the series. For some reason I feel sad that it ended even though I really can't get over how poor Paolini's technique is. Maybe this is a kind of a longing for the story to have been told by a more experienced writer since the few well executed parts really hit home, and the idea of the story wasn't really all that terrible.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." Twitter
The thing I love about Galbatorix is how he's right. He would probably be a good ruler, and magic absolutely needs to be kept in check. The problem is he's still a genocidal maniac and you can't really let that slide.
(and he goes out in the best way possible)
