When Family Guy was parodying Star Wars, the show's crew felt burnt out by the time they spoofed Return of the Jedi due to FOX's demands.
Does anyone else think that Family Guy should parody the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special? Honestly, I'd watch a Family Guy spoof of it.

I just find something funnier about the animation and pacing of the earlier seasons. I think it's how everything is much more frenetic and rapid paced.
Also I think the fact the characters are given more individual animations leads to funnier reaction comedy. Everyone is so emotionless in later Family Guy.

I mean in that take the Wonka expy genuinely does kick Peter out rather than just being a Secret Test of Character. Also at least Joe just got a song rather than a kick in the shin. They seem kinda mean in general. :P
Weird how they kinda quickly do away with the Wonka parody in that episode (maybe because Futurama did it so wonderfully only a year or so before) though I admit the rest of the episode isn't bad, especially love the Twilight Zone ending.

Eh, the animation may be good, I just can't go back to the older season's art style.
Modern Family guy can be animated great, and when it is, its honestly far better then the earlier series, IMO.
