Weird... I'd swear there was a mailbox button cupled with the others in the buttons bar atop the pages, but it seems to be a "send PM" button instead.
Yeah, can't find a mailbox link unless I directly go to the forum (and even then, only in the forum's top view) or the watchlist. (IMHO, troper pages could benefit from more easily linking to the mailbox)

I bet it has something to do with protecting the pm system from spammers and other internet creepy crawlies.

Hardly. Sending a PM is much simpler, as there is a link on every Contributor Page as well as in every forum post. Seeing your own mailbox, however, is much more difficult.
I seccond this motion. Not only the mailbox, but all forum buttons should be available in all parts of the forum, not only in the main page.
Yeah, it's quite easy to send a PM, but getting to your mailbox is annoyingly difficult. When zerky was newer she was aware that some sort of pm system existed, but had no idea that it was even possible to look at your old mail.
Odd, I could've sworn there was a link in the tools folder.
(Aside: Just so Zerky knows, Zerky doesn't have to refer to Zerky as Zerky on the fora. Zerky is allowed to use first person. Zerky.)

Yeah, tools would be a pretty intuitive place to put it if the mailbox ever does get more accessible.
Also, zerky is aware that it's not required to refer to oneself in third person. She just chooses to.
Amen to more accessible mailbox... I only found out there WAS a PM system from seeing one of my edits robo-flagged for natter, and I *still* can't consistently find my own effing mailbox! (I've just been looking for it for 10 minutes!)
Maybe have a link to it on the sidebar in tools or troperville or something. Currently the ways to get to the mailbox are multi-step and kind of unintuitive... going to the forums and clicking on the link to it it, or going to your watchlist and clicking on it. Unless zerky's missing something, there's no way to access it directly from the main wiki.
