As someone who has to have their blood taken regularly, I sincerely hope for the sake of everyone that those blood taking machines they are constantly sticking into everyone hands are completely painless, because otherwise, oof.

It's the Empire, so you can bet they're not.

I've been saying Echo should have gotten a hand since the series began... Glad to see he took my advice, with only a few episode left.

Rampart ended up being the exact millstone they expected him to be. Of course they brought him along so no shock there.

Rampart was out of the spotlight before Hemlock showed up, right? So, if they meet next episode it would be a first. I suspect it might go:

Hemlock: Tell us what you know.

Rampart: I won't talk unless you give me something in exchange.

Hemlock: Prepare the torture droid.

Rampart: I'll talk!

Actually it was mentioned Rampart was already on Mount Tantiss, granted he was arrested before Hemlock came there. But since it’s stated he created secure measures to protect location of Tantiss I would imagine that they do know each other.

Final episode out today, and it's twice the length of a typical one. I kind of figured it would be a two-parter, but then people said it wasn't, but it is double length, which is almost the same thing.

Get wrecked Rampart.

It was a great finale.

Great finale indeed

So happy they didn’t give Rampart redemption, he is to much of fun as a bad guy. Plus I would definetely have strong opinions if they redeemed him but not Cid.

I'm honestly surprised they had Tech's death actually stick.

Same

On one hand I have to congratulate them for actually sticking to it. On other hand I am really sad, RIP Tech.

That was beautiful.

Only one thing bothered me, we never learned who the "other doner" who contributed to Omega's genome is. It was mentioned once super briefly, and I'm assuming they are female and also Force sensitive, hence why Omega is female and Force sensitive, but that's the most we ever got. Also, I know Emerie is a clone, but are we 100% certain she's a Jango clone? She looks different than Omega, so she may have been part of a different project altogether.

Edit: Okay, nevermind, I went looking for the exact quote, and at the end of "Juggernaut" Hemlock says they mixed Omega's DNA with another sample to get a good M count reading. I thought he was implying Nala Se did this way back when the clones were first created and combined Jango's DNA with someone else to produce Omega, who is a clone with a high M count, then she jsut never told anyone. What Hemlock actually said was that he just now mixed Omega's DNA with another sample, this one from one of the Force sensitive kids,' and then got a high M count in the result.

And so The Bad Batch comes to an end. Some episodes were a bit of a drag, especially in season 1, but overall it was a pretty fun ride.

I was prepared that not all remaining members of the Batch would make it, but the conclusion was pretty much as unambiguously happy as it could have been after everything that happened.

Eh. That was the twitching hand. At least now he doesn't have to worry about it.

Even if it seemed obvious, I thought at least Wrecker was done for, but no. Everybody Lives. Not bad at all. Well, except for Hemlock and Nala Se, but fuck that dude, and I think Nala knew she was done for on some level.

Goddamn that was one of the most intense experiences I’ve had with Star Wars

I honestly wasn’t sure going into it what the death count would be other than certainty that Henlock, Rampart, and Nala Se would be dead by the the end, but the latter two being an on-screen suicide bombing was not something I ever expected to be in the cards.

Also HAND AMPUTATION!!! After all these years, how I’ve missed you so <3. I honestly had made my peace with us never getting one again, and now here it is at long last.

I was fairly certain that Omega, Hunter, and Wrecker would live, and maybe one or two of Crosshair, Echo, or Emerie could be killed off; but there was so much tension throughout that at multiple points I wound up expecting any of them except Omega and Emerie to die. It wasn’t until Scorch went down (surprisingly quickly) and reached catharsis from the final shootout that I fully believed the entire team would live (minus one hand).

Not sure if I’m annoyed, impressed, or both by how much they teased both Project Necromancer and the Clone Assassins‘ faces.

So, now that Palaptine's lost access to Premium Grade Kaminoan cloning tech, he's got to go dumpster diving for the third rate cloning tech you find in the bargain bin at a thrift-store.

Also, only a little related, I just finished watching Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, and as you may guess from the title, it also has a "Operation Stardust" in it.

Vader: Step one of Project Stardust is to have an officer steak into a Federation Base wearing one of their uniforms, then steal a Gundam equipped with a nuclear weapon. Next-

Palpatine: Wrong Stardust, Vader!

Gotta love yet another secret project that would have probably benefited the Empire more by comparison being scuttled in favour of the (impractical and doomed to destruction) Death Star. Though I feel like Tarkin only got away with it because there was literally nothing to salvage from Project Necromancer, so Palpatine didn't really have a reason to intervene. tongue

I wasn’t expecting to do this so close to ‘Star Wars Day’, but I just have to ask; Has anyone else noticed that while the Star Wars media, outside of the movie trilogies, by which I mean animated and live-action TV shows, seems to have no problems with showing and using Anakin, Padme and Leia as prominent characters, they seem to have a bit of an aversion towards showing Luke? Why is that? Isn’t a good character to use too? Why always side-step around him and barely even show or mention him? Why are both Leia and Anakin (in both of his personas, Jedi or Sith) free to be used?

[up][up] Largely because his life canonically isn’t that interesting prior to the original trilogy. And there’s complexities to using him extensively following it (technologically, because they’ve elected to digitally recreate his face in live action; mythologically, because he’s the main representative of the Force in that time and they’re working on remystifying the Force).

The main time period where they can focus on him with little consequence — between the original trilogy movies — they have. That’s primarily what the mainline Star Wars comic has covered .
