With an Ultimate Shield buildnote , Poppi Alpha and Tora can solo most endgame bosses without Level 4 Special cheese.

Basically.
You're lucky you got Gorg on Rex, I find Rex to be Gorg's best Driver. You now have the means to launch enemies so long as they are already toppled.
Right now you can immediately do a launch combo with Nia, Tora, and Rex using Gorg. Should be handy.
Also keep in mind that you got the only rare Water blade found in the gacha system; all others are found via quests or story.

The best combo I have so far is Earth (Tora) -> Heat (Rex) -> Heat (Nia) -> Earth (Tora). The problem is Tora is a bit slow on the second Earth.
I really hope I will get Chain Attack soon.

If you can get a Wind Blade like Boreas or Adenine on Nia, you can pull off Earth, Fire, Wind, which should get rid of that pesky Blowdown effect that will piss you off.

I have to say I appreciate that the healer can combo decently with other party members. Monolith really took lessons from Sharla.

One other thing that makes Tora better than Morag, at least in the end game, is that the AI doesn't suck at either form at tanking, but evasion tanking requires timing to cheese attacks, which the AI sucks at. Whereas the type of tanking with Poppi Alpha and Shield Hammers give the AI more leeway to be stupid, especially with enough block chance.
And you likely want to have one of DPS characters as the player rather than the tank to maximize DPS during the post game bosses.

Finished Star-Crossed Lover. The couple returns to Torigoth.
I've been trying to kill the Rhogul Unique Monster, but keep getting harassed by other monsters, including a lv.22 Rhogul.

That's a result of the Unique Monster's warning cry, which summons an additional monster.
I'd put it off until later.
By the way, have you slain the Bunnit Unique Monster just outside of Torigoth? It's an easy source of luck boosting accessories early in the game, which can help for getting those rare blades.

Yeahhhh, the affinity boosts/penalties are basically arbitrary and don't reflect the characters at all. I honestly wonder if it's bugged.

So far your rare blade findings have been perfect. One of Adenine's skills boost the rate in which you find items from enemies. This can make a difference in core crystal farming later in the game.

Getting into Lv. 4 Special is quicker than I thought, though I have to say is there any reason to use Lv.3 Specials?

While I agree that overall 1 had superior side-content to 2, 2's Captain Nopopon and the follow-up to Bana's story were at least on par with 1's content.
