Mm. If that's the proper name for it I say keep the name but prune the examples and rework the description to be clearer, if necessary.

It's also the proper name for several unrelated poses.

The counter-examples are not poses.

"Kick the Dog" is a pretty broad name, but not all instances of a canine being struck by a foot are that trope.

...we could put all those poses under this trope.

How unrelated are they?

A large number of them involve just taking camera shots over the girl's shoulder leading to front shots staring down their tops.

There's also the pose where the girl sits front to camera but cheat her shoulder to the side to rest her chin on her shoulder. This tends to make the character look shy and vulnerable rather than sexual.

They're pretty varied and they all highlight different things.

fwiw the first result from googling "over the shoulder pose" says "[Celebrties] love the over-the-shoulder look because it's a statement pose and flaunts your back, bum and shoulders. It draws attention to detail of your gown if it's backless or really ornate."

Yes it can mean other things. Is the same name with three extra syllables really better? I don't think "this means when the pose is used to show off TNA" means that needs to be part of the title.

[up]But the picture referenced isn't an example of the trope as written. There's no awkward twisting around to show the boobs.

I do not deny the phrase can mean other things. But it is also used to mean exactly what is described by the article.

Tits aNd Ass

[up][up] But it's not the only meaning of the phrase. this article (slightly racy) says it's about the infamous over the shoulder pose and shows a completely different post.

This is widely referred to among a certain sector of comics bloggers (i.e., the ones who don't like it) as "The Brokeback Pose". Google: [1]

[up][up] If that's true, and it appears to be, support Brokeback Pose.

I still prefer Tits And Ass Pose. Brokeback Pose sounds too much like Brokeback Mountain.

Google, Urban Dictionary and That Other Wiki suggest that Brokeback Pose is not really an established term anywhere, and that the most common usage of the term "brokeback" is either the movie Brokeback Mountain, or defined as "something of questionable masculinity" based on said movie.

Google is linked above. Even if it didn't, it and ickypedia are mostly one Internet Consensus Machine now. Are we to heed the decrees of this?

But yeah, with a lame pun on Brokeback Mountains as the main advantage, it's not worth it. Twist And Show Pose? All Her Assets Pose? grin

[up] It has nothing to do with Brokeback Mountain. It's from the idea that her spine would have to be broken to get into that pose.

From a technical point of view, it's Anatomically Improbable Contrapposto, but I suspect that most people don't know what contrapposto means.

[up] Of course it doesn't, which is why it would be better to avoid this connection. As to the anatomical problems - well, obviously (see my latest additions grin) but sadly, while widespread, it's not the only one spine-wrecking pose, so that would be not quite clear/descriptive.
