I was also hesitant, but it helps that Morrison's prose is surprisingly good. Like the whole thing where the narrator chews out the characters for not figuring out the Vampire thing? Gold.

Yeah, the writing is good enough that I'm still enjoying it, and the enhanced pace is nice. I do definitely miss the art, but given Zach's wrist problems continuing as before was clearly untenable.

Incidentally, I've seen people make that argument, here about swords, about guns, that one of the issues of guns is that they make killing impersonal, and therefore too easy, too easy to get used to. I'm honestly skeptical. Yeah, easier to kill someone accidentally with a gun, but it's still loud and traumatic as I understand it. If you keep doing it, it does get easier, but that applies to killing in general.

So far, I'm on-board, but I'll admit that the switch to primarily text with a few images was one of the reasons I dropped Erfworld, so I hesitate to throw myself entirely behind it.
