So would you consider yourself perhaps an early 2000's kid? (Not a 2000's baby that's a whole different thing)
Taking into account age of memory from premature years about 5 or 6, what's the earliest you can remember?
For me, as far as video games go, slapping 98' on something meant it was almost next gen. (Monster Truck Madness 98 comes to mind)
Then they just skip straight to the year 2000.
>insert angelic choir music<
I was born in '95, so I'm kind of a mid-00's baby.
And I'm weird for liking stuff that's not from my time, I guess.
The earliest I can remember is when I was four.

what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseYep 93' for me, my most formative years were perhaps 97' to 03' as far as pop culture goes.
From N64 to Xbox (The real Xbox 1), were golden for me. Materialistic things mean nothing, but still I was very fortunate to have such warm blessings.
And no I don't think it's weird to like older things, I seek to respect the older ways because of my displeasure with the newer ways of this world.

Pffft.
You got video game consoles for presents.
I got gum.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseYes, among other things. Adopted only child, spoiled, sheltered, protected from abusers, you get the idea...
Most importantly loved. I could never repay what I've been given. Never.
I am loved.
But I'm kind of The Unfavorite.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseIt didn't border on neglect or disownment did it?
Should we move this to a PM, is this getting personal?
Oh, no, nothing like that.
I was just the first, and everything they did wrong with me, they learned not to do with my brother.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseAhh... That's very understandable.
And of course, since I'm the oldest, I'm the "responsible" one.
Which means that I have more responsibilities and am punished more harshly for the same offense.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseBut just think your brother is the "un-responsible one". He has less freedoms than you and does not get the honor of greater punishment. Eh?
Slap some of that patented Zack Morris Brand reverse psychology on him.

No he has the same amount of freedom.
Of course, since we're not children anymore, it's kind of evened out.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseYeah, figures... when they're 18 they're out the door.
I'm 18, but I'm going to a JC in town, so I'm still with my parents.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseThose a quote from Homer Simpson, in case you didn't know.
In regards to his policy concerning children abandoning parents or parents kicking out children whichever comes first.

90s stuff isn't popular? We have The90s Are All That, which seems to be pretty popular.
I already mentioned this, but I'm a child of the early 2000s, which still contained remnants of the 90s.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Why have I not been privy to this glorious program????
Because our cable/satellite got struck by lightening and died back when the 90's still were all that!
But because of the wonders of free, public access television programs, I bathe myself with likes of METV and Antenna TV reruns of The Rifleman, I Love Lucy, Green Acres, I Dream Of Jeannie, and other quality family television programmes In Technicolor!

Speaking of which, anybody remember when Nick at Nite showed black and white TV shows? When was this? The 90s, of course!
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Well, no I just said our tv got struck by lighting.
1992, over here... I was pretty much born holding a Super Nintendo controller, with equal amounts of Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat, and Super Mario World. And a Game Genie, which I tended to abuse way, way more than I really should have. I think I used it so much it must have destroyed my future gaming skills. :P
"Great Scott! Send in the Doomsday Squad!"Computer Shopper and Upgrading and Repairing PC's: all together 17 pounds of computer related goodness.
Ah life before Amazon, Newegg.com et al. Back when games came on disks and the console gamers were smug, but consoles worked.
We had sneakernet. I used to carry five 1.44 mb floppies in mah purse.
Modems: Kermit, Zmodem, 8-n-1....

All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48I was born in 1986, perfect time to grow up with 90's TV yet still get some residual 80's shows via reruns.
Still I don't think anything quite stirs my nostalgia quite like old Disney Channel bumpers, from back when you had to pay extra to get it like HBO. It was a completely different channel back then, kiddies, before it became a breeding ground for trashy future pop stars. If only I knew how to work a VCR back then. =/ I'd have recorded tapes and tapes of this stuff.
Then again, this comes pretty close to topping that. I get nostalgia tears from the David the Gnome theme if I'm in the right mood. T.T

My tropes launched: https://surenity2.blogspot.com/2021/02/my-tropes-on-tv-tropes.htmlBeautiful retro scans. The funny thing is I found most of these things in my closet cleaning them out, we still had trading posts from 1997, Electronic Gaming Monthly detailing the Next Gen N64... etc.
In 86, this was the future... by 92, it was a classic. And by 2000... It was an oldie

I guess, but that was when I was like 6, so that was before me.
