Yes, but I'm pretty sure that "Kill all nonhumans" is horrible enough to make one the big bad of their setting unless its name is Warhammer40000
Something can be omnicidal and sympathetic outside of Warhammer40000. I was asking how sympathetic they are supposed to be.

Well, I'm guessing that they're supposed to be understandable in their motivations and somewhat sympathetic, but I think that they're a bit less so when one thinks that, given all available evidence, that Mortasheen would be relatively live-and-let-live with their civilization if it wasn't trying to murder them. Plus, the humans in Mortasheen are relatively okay with their position on the food chain, even signing up for experiments to improve their station in life, making Wreathe's motivations a bit murkier. Am I close to the truth on this Mr. Cales?
Still working on this...I'm about halfway finished the artwork for the book, which will ultimately total over a hundred full color illustrations, more than I've ever really done in just one year of my life...we'll have to see how quickly I can pull it all off.
Late reply, but yeah, the civilization of Wreathe is just afraid and confused. They can't even communicate outside their own unique language, and are afraid to even attempt to do so what with all the brain-tampering monsters out there.
Normal humans in Mortasheen city aren't necessarily happy being lab animals, they just don't really know anything else.

bogleech.com for my writing, comics and cartoons. All day today and yesterday, I spent my time archive binging the Mortasheen page on 's site and on this very wiki and I have to say, I could simply not be any more excited for this game's release than I already am. My brain is swirling with idea upon idea. When I get a clearer picture, I'll open some discussion on what might spew out of my brain and get all over the P Cs involved. 'til then, best of luck. You have my support.
I am the arm.By the way Scythe, what exactly are your favorite areas and NP Cs that you've created for the game?
So I heard you guys are finally about to finish your core rule book.
I sure hope so because I am really wanting to throw money at you guys.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianThis thread is DEAD.
Attention anyone left who still cares: The rest of us jumped ship and went to Bogleech itself YEARS ago.
Desperate for feedback, please visit Troper Page for links! So you just thread necro'd a thread simply to note its dead? Good job.
I was hoping it was up and running again ;_;
hashtagsarestupidWhat purpose is necroing a year-old thread only to say it's dead.
I'm still super excited about this game BTW.

Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianThere is some progress being done; I just think Wojick announced the game a bit too soon.
I'm rather anticipating this; the designs are fun to look at and the world-building is creative.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Hey, if there's anybody still interested in this game, Cat Powered Raygun Studios is going to release the basic core rule system they're basing Mortasheen on for free soon.
But first they're doing a poll to determine what cat the first edition should be named after.
Scottish Fold is clearly the only acceptable option and you should vote for that.

Since Mortasheen is finally expected to release soon, I would like to happily say that I've already ordered the Painchild plushie and I'm planning to buy the TRPG the moment it comes out!
Welcome to Ideal's WorldSince this thread has been revived, here's a questions that I've had for ages. Besides the monster info, there's a lot of worldbuilding and character stuff on the tropes page. Where did all that info come from? I've searched around all over the place and never found any other reference to similar info on the net (except for a short article about the Shades on tumblr).
From the preview, Wreathe does not seem that bad besides the whole killing pretty much everyone else thing. I suppose the point is that they are just antagonists and not "fun"?
