Supposedly after having gone into the grid the first time and seeing that there is "life" in there, Flynn had a sort of change of heart. He's still fundamentally the same guy though. Flynn before Clu's rebellion is still basically the same, but he only really becomes wise and godly after spending 20 something years inside the grid.

The birth of his son played a large part in it as well.
Why isn't anybody talking about this? Not only is Dyson still alive but we've got introduced to a possible new member to the revolution.
You should probably add spoiler tags you know.
Anyway, I thought this episode was great. It helped explain a few things. I hope we get to see Cyrus in the present.
This episode confirms that it is possible to heal Tron's injuries and that he was at some point on the verge of being repurposed by Clu. This just solidifies my belief that Rinzler is definitely not going to turn out to be Beck, which I just kind of think is a dumb theory anyway. I have a hard time believing that this series could get away with a Retcon that huge and that obvious.
I'm still behind Tron definitely ending up as Rinzler, simply because it would make for such a great season finale type thing.
I can just picture it - Beck gets exposed as the Renegade, captured, sentenced to be derezzed, and then comes Tron pulling a Big Damn Heroes to rescue Beck. But his injuries catch up with him, the number overwhelm him and he doesn't manage to escape with Beck, and Beck and his allies think that he's finally died. Meanwhile, Clu has plans...
That could work as either the end to the entire show, or as set-up for a new season where Beck struggles to lead the uprising by himself, and in the background there are rumours about this terrifying new soldier of Clu's called Rinzler. (Then for your Grand Finale you'd have Beck vs Rinzler/Tron, with Beck finding out the truth.)
Some of the lines in this two-part episode also seemed mildly foreshadowy to me, too.

Signatures are for lamers.I can't shake the feeling that this will only end in tears for Beck. For some reason, part of me always thinks that, eventually, he'll get done in despite all his efforts—possibly by Tron-turned-Rinzler himself.
Yeah, that avatar's a 'Shop of my real face.I think everyone who's watching this show has accepted that this will probably not end happily for Beck. Especially since we have no idea how long before Tron Legacy this is set.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatGiven the fact that there is an uprising in the works during Legacy, there's no reason that Beck can't be out there still fighting. What I think Scars sets up is for Tron to give himself up so that Beck can keep on fighting.
So I finally saw the new episodes....holy fuckballs that nightmare....damn Disney little gruesome eh?
Nice to see Flynn in some form or function as well and the Rectifer.
Also seems we may need to add a "subversion" to using the D word to the Uprising page. Unless its there already.

You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans.Look at what I found.

Hmm, I really hope this works out.
It's definitely risky. Not to mention that Tron Uprising hasn't gotten a lot of views in the first place. But, given the dark tones, maybe it'll actually work?
Lord Eric Wu, Grandmaster of the order of Troping.I might have echoed this sentiment on the motorcity thread, but do they really expect this to be able to compete with Adult Swim? Or is it just the typical Screwed by the Network?

I treat all living things equally. That is to say, I eat all living thingsThe next episode is a good one. Taking what this episode shows along the descriptions for 14 and 15, I think that Able's Garage will become the nexus of the resistance in Argon.
I've read word that Uprising has been green lit for a second 18 episode season.
I've only seen the first episode so far. Fuck this is awesome. Looks like the Tron franchise has found its Lauren Faust.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I wouldn't go that far, I'm pretty sure Lisberger's still involved with this somewhere.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatSo, has anyone seen "The Stranger"? It's one of the best episodes yet in my opinion, though I confess myself a little disappointed that Cyrus became a bad guy.
Did he ever state his name? Because if they didn't, there's a chance that wasn't Cyrus.
They didn't, but the guy clearly had the same face, voice and markings around his eyes. Plus, why would they have shown that clip of Cyrus in the Previously on… segment if that wasn't supposed to be him?
To mess with people. I'm sure it's been done before.
I think it was him as well. He does share the same eye markings, same face shape and features. Voice didn't sound too familiar at first, but after some listening it does sound the same. And if there's anyone who could have been the renegade before Beck it's him. And then there's the Cyrus-Beck algorithm that they are both named after, another sign of their connection. Other than that, how about that big ass recognizer Dyson's got now?

Whoever did the visual design for this most recent episode is either on drugs or deserves some kind of award.
Or was on some award-winning drugs. Because damn some of those visuals were gloriously trippy.

As a relative newcomer to the overall Tron franchise, when did Flynn go from "dickish but fun-loving guy" to "wise and godly, but still flawed figure"? It seems rather unsettling that Flynn has this near paragon status.
