Because that's probably impossible as huge fractions of the fanbase are demanding completely opposite things.
Stargate SG-1 Let's Watch. Because my ZHP thing failed.True, except for this particular instance, it was more than just a "couple" of derails.
At any rate, it would be such a waste to let the Sonic Colors thread wallow in relative obscurity when, after a little renaming, it would serve as a general Sonic thread quite well. That it already has over three thousands posts in it also kinda helps.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.I'm hoping the anniversary game is a crossover platformer with a certain red plumber, considering their respective years of creation coincide.(Mario was created in 1981, Sonic in 1991)

@ miru and Kommodore's conversation a page back: ...why Amy? I know that she was introduced back in Sonic CD, but her then and her now have so many differences (appearance-wise and ability-wise) that they can be considered separate characters.
So Blaze is part of the core five?
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DHahaha NO. Anyone introduced after S3&K isn't part of the core cast.
Sonic and Eggman = main characters.
Everyone else is expendable and unnecessary. Hence why theri importance varies depending on the game in question.
Knuckles, Tails, Amy and Shadow all can be really important or just there.
So I don't think there is a core five. Just two.
She was introduced in Sonic CD, released in 1993.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.I love all the Sonic characters, the more the better. Sonic just by himself gets a little boring, y'know?
The only reason people didn't like the segments with other characters in games like SA 2 is because they obviously didn't have as much care put into them as the Sonic levels. If they could tweak the Knuckles/Rogue and Tails/Robotnik stages better, people would have enjoyed them more.
Besides, all Sonic's stages were monotonous. Most of the time when a level REALLY gets going you're not even in control, you're just watching Sonic pull off some stunt while the camera pans out, and even when you are playing him it's hold forward and occasionally jump for most of his stages.
That's why the other stages were there, to make you actually want to finish the game.
Again, speak for yourself, mon...
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Speak for myself? That's the game's formula, man. That's how it works. I'm not saying I don't enjoy playing them, but at the end of the day it is what it is and that's what it is.
Sonic Colors at least changes his stages up a fair bit, though.

@Nikkolas, Shadow? Core five? I was talking about the former three plus Robotnik.
@Komodin, I know full well when she was introduced, Sonic CD was my very first computer game. I just meant sort of how things are at the present taking everything that has occurred into consideration.
@chocoboxxx That's just your opinion, while i was never a fan of just plain old Sonic, I was never a fan of too much of everything else and while SA 2 and SA 1 were flawed but good, things such as Big's story, and the Knux/Rouge Stages in SA 2 were horrible. They didn't need to expand the cast out so far,, particulalry ona permanent basis with Rouge, Shadow, Cream, and those apparently now semi-recurring Babylon Rouges... It would have made more sense if they had just been characters exclusive to their game.
The Blog The Art0_o You don't like Cream?
Her pacifism, technical and otherwise, annoys me.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.I like cream like I enjoy a heart attack, she fits in the least with the cast and the story and all else except maybe to help market those Chao. It's like after finding out they could draw in the teen edgy rebel hardcore crowd with Shadow they decided if they could try bringing in little kiddies and girly girls with someone who's even more one-note than Shadow.
The Blog The ArtOh well, to each their own. Oh yeah while I was in another forum I had a cool idea. Take a 3D Sonic, any one, and make it first person but less like a standard shooter and more like Mirror's Edge. That would KICK ASS.
Isn't that what the fish-eye kinda did in Sonic X-Treme?
I wouldn't know, I didn't know there was such a thing as Sonic X-treme *looks up* Ah, canceled, I see. Dang, that looked very promising, a shame it didn't pan out.
But yeah, I always thought the Sonic games would be more enhanced if they relied less on forward momentum and borrowed more elements from The Flash.

I'm hoping for a soundtrack release of the Genesis games. Hopefully a compilation.
