That's bullshit.
If I wanna get better at a game, I'm gonna keep playing it. This is why fighting games appeal to me.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. Also true. Though I think I would have been more accurate if I hadn't said there were more games, but rather the marketing is much more prominent today than when I was a kid.
Yeah, but multiplayer games are basically the only games designed with that philosophy these days.

SoundCloudAnd character action games.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Hmm... I think I've only played one such game, but AFAIK they don't get very many of their sales from kids. Can't speak to how successful they are as a whole though.

SoundCloudWhich Sonic Frontiers basically is.
Please don't post videos/links without context.
Macron's notesSorry, it was a forum post in response to the rather sudden shift in the conversation.
Its primarily an open world game.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. It's an open-world character action game. Character action is a descriptor of the combat style and open-world is a descriptor of the level and world lay-out, they're not mutually exclusive.
I'd be surprised if the ranking system near-universally associated with character action games gets implemented without levels, stages, or missions. That's definitely a key part of how those games encourage repeated play.
SoundCloudShadow 05 very nearly provided the perfect template to solve the replayability issue, honestly.
Having one level veer out into multiple levels for many short playthroughs, and encouraging you to go through that for the true ending is gonna give the first level a good chance to showcase its replayability.
In that sense, it's unfortunate that Shadow 05 stumbled in a lot of other ways (including that incentive requiring that you play said first level 10 times with level design that doesn't do much to evoke that replayability beyond just doing different missions).

Like doing the Hero mission of Air Fleet leading to Lava Shelter or the Dark mission of Space Gadget has Shadow thinking he's an Android... even though he wasn't told beforehand by anyone.
Agreed. They should retry that. It was a good idea, just not executed well. My problem with the game was the first level the non-neutral missions require you to defeat every enemy on the opposing side. If you side with G.U.N., you need to take out every alien, and vice versa.
Also, how the Dark Neutral ending and Hero Neutral ending should be switched because of how dissonant they are.
Gotta wonder why anybody, let alone everybody would even waste time on Eggman when there's an alien invasion, barring Shadow and said aliens.
Cuz not having Eggman in a Sonic game would be weird.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I didn't say anything about Eggman's appearance. Just the characters fighting him when there are aliens invading.
That's my point. They needed someone else besides Alien.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. There are, in fact, Sonic games that don't have Eggman as the villain, and I've never heard people calling them "weird".
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.Tails fights Eggman in Circus Park, where he's motivated to steal back all of the rings that Eggman stole around the world. Sure it's on the Hero route where the Black Arms are presumably losing, but that's still some skewed priorities on Tails's part.
Besides that one instance, the only other instances where characters besides the Black Arms interact with Eggman's army in any way is Cryptic Castle (where Amy wants to find Cream, and urges you to leave the robots alone for some reason?????), Mad Matrix (where the Chaotix are presumably working on whatever job they got this game, and where Espio wants to avoid attacking Eggman's robots to remain stealthy), and Iron Jungle and Lava Shelter, where Omega's there doing his Omega thing.
So yeah, the characters actually do spend most of their time with the Black Arms over Eggman, with the exception of the one character who would have no reason not to (Omega).

I know, but they could bring in Eggman without engaging him in combat. Eggman does have decency so he's not going to let evil aliens do as they please. If nothing else, it would be in his best interest to oppose the aliens since if they succeed he's doomed too.

Eggman's conflicts are kind of all over the place in Shadow.
Cryptic Castle is a fight between Eggman and the aliens, Amy and Cream just got caught in the middle somehow. Its fine.
Sky Troops has no conflicting issues at all, Eggman vs. Aliens, no fluff about it.
Mad Matrix is a little weird. In Last Story, Team Chaotix manage to uncover the recording of Gerald warning about the Black Comet, but its unclear how hacking Eggman's network connected to that. Maybe they're just distrustful of the guy and wanted to make sure he wasn't in cahoots with the aliens? Minus the Chaotix though, its another Eggman vs. Aliens stage.
Circus Park and Iron Jungle are the weirdest ones. Why is GUN worried about Eggman at all? Its his Circus; maybe he's not on the up-and-up, but that should hardly be a priority at the time. And Tails showing up to collect Rings is just bizarre. There's thousands of them in this world, Tails, I don't think Eggman's destroying the Ring economy by hoarding a few hundred. And Iron Jungle, Omega's fine, why should he care about aliens invading? But GUN is attacking in this stage, and its even more out of place, pretty much all Eggman's been doing all game is trying to fight the Black Arms.
More like that a lot of people have the money to buy a lot of games due to gamers having disposable income as adults. When they were kids they had to play what little games they got.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!
