This topic reminded me of a site called Digital Blasphemy, where the artist running it creates digital art of both realistic and fantastic settings for wallpapers. It made me really happy to see it was still up and the artist is still making new work, since I think I first went to it almost 14 years ago.

Here's a link to some of the top rated works made over the years, and this image◊ is what I used to have as both my wallpaper and the background on an old blog.
