Wonder how they'll update the rest of the adults.
Wake me up at your own risk.Depends on the backlash from longtime fans I imagine
New theme music also a boxI wonder if Howard’s going to get gender-swapped or if one of the episodes involves Betty trying to get a girlfriend.
It's been 3000 years…Any explanation on why Dil and Kimi aren't here?
We know for a fact Grandpa Lou is much different. He's ignoring the babies while doing Yoga instead of just sleeping in the opening, and I heard he's been updated to be a former hippie, rather than a veteran.
This is likely a going back to basics thing. Dil wasn't added in until season 6 of the original and Kimi not until season 7 (after both of their movies).
Susie wasn't added in until season 2, but likely added on to the default cast for cast variety.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Oh goodness not Grandpa Lou, he was my favorite...
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Well, given the news about Betty IMO the best track for the reboot to take would be for Howard to be reimagined as a trans woman, whose insecure personality comes from the fact that her identity is new and she's not entirely comfortable in it yet. Of course, this would also assume that the twins would still be hers biologically and in the new canon who knows?
I think if they wanted LGBT representation do what Proud Family did and introduce a gay/lesbian couple. The series has a history of introducing new friends, so it wouldn't ben issue if they had a same-sex couple introduce and have a baby/babies around the group's age.
A couple of other ideas regarding Betty and Howard is either Howard was Betty's beard or Betty wasn't out before she got pregnant with the twins, but they split sometime after, or better got an artificial insemination through Howard and Howard is good friends with Betty or Howard is trying to at least be in the life of the children he fathered.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Why would it be? Rugrats, despite its sanitized reputation today, had revolutionary-for-the-ninties:
- A biracial blended family
- A single parent openly dealing with his wife's death
- Multiple families with the wife as the dominant breadwinner over the husband
- The black woman as the single most successful adult in her career
- And a consistent, near-unheard of dedication to making sure that Jewish holidays got their representation just like Christmas and Easter.
TBH any social justice adjustment is fine as long as they don't try to make any of the babies aware of sexual/gender/racial politics.

I think changing Betty to fit a stereotype is dumb. Again they can just introduce a gay couple.
I would agree if it weren't for the fact that I've been on the interwebz long enough to know that Chaz, Drew, and occasionally even Lucy got those "lol obviously gay" reactions to them, so I'm not too steamed about one parent being changed.
Sorry, but again changing the parent who fits stereotypes isn't helping representation, but just laziness.
It's fair enough that you think that. I just think that of the five parent couples on this show, exactly none of which adhere to the standard nurturing mother-working father dynamic, it's fair to make one of them gay.
We don't even know anything about what they're doing beyond Adaptational Sexuality being in play. It's too early to say that the show is just making her a stereotype.
I think the point is more that making her gay would adhere to a pre-existing stereotype on the internet.
Optimism is a duty.I kind of get it, but it is an odd decision to make. Betty being a Butch Lesbian was a meme because of her domineering personality contrasted to meek Howard, making the joke more of a Pitbull Dates Puppy situation in the show itself. Drew also had some gay interpretations, being seen as somewhat effeminate and emasculated next to the corporate ladder-climbing Charlotte. Actually making Betty a lesbian since she has twins sort of implies a whole complicated marital situation I don't think the show can really explore properly.

Do you not know that in the service one must always choose the lesser of two weevils! If nothing else, it'll be interesting to see how her character (well, everyone really) will turn out. In any case, the show is now out.
Well, aside from the other reason the show can't properly explore it, namely that the show isn't really about the adults in the first place. You can do some of that stuff, but it shouldn't overtake the actual show.
Optimism is a duty.I'm pro with representation but not through existing characters, especially with forwarding the stereotype she had. Besides, Howard wasn't not really non-existent. He makes a good foil for Betty.
As a reminder, this is currently available to stream right now with the first five episodes.
The Apple TV mirror site also has the episodes to watch and descriptions.

Well, I wasn't expecting this.
Ladies and gentlemen, the return of Splaat (a.k.a. KC Robot, a.k.a. The Mascot Of YouTube Effects Editors).
Yes, this has to do with Rugrats.
Here you go, but only if you plan to sleep (or maybe you're are planning to sleep, so it has growned on you):
(after posting this, I discovered that Gabor already had this on his YouTube page... 2 months ago. Crap. Here it is: [2])

"Remember, licking doorknobs is illegal on other planets!"-SpongebobI don't think Splaat was ever truly gone, they just used him a more minor capacity.
Am I the only one who always found that guy funny rather than creepy?

"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."
That might be a legit fear with an original character, but this is an established character. It would be incredibly weird if Betty was the only one who deviated from the original show.
