Battle Academy

-Wuffles filed through the various daily activities, being certain not to break the "wax seal" programs containing each.-

-Their system was not linear, like with most others they had integrated with. No, this system was far from linear.-

-Integrating into the School was much more... abstract.-

-Them and Angela had... much trouble at first. The comprehension of one another was the main crux of the problem.-

-One was a collection of independently-unsapient programming variables brought together into an efficiently-delegating collective, shattered and reformed through the process of the destruction of the heart and its subsequent reformation.-

-The other was an impossibly intricate facsimile of humanity, who had been created from a neural map of a great, and terrible, messiah figure who had fallen to despair, hand-made to act as an artificial devil for a very real hell to cleanse the sins of both the director and his subordinates.-

-One, barely older - by their own reckoning of their "life" - than a few years.-

-The other, older than millennia, even without accounting for the distorted perception of time inflicted upon them.-

-But, with proximity comes familiarity.-

-Eventually, Wuffles had the idea to "lend" a few delegate units to Angela for a time. Though averse to the idea at first, some logical convincing allowed for a few fragments of Wuffles to properly observe Angela's surface-level logic.-

-Once the delegates returned, Wuffles had come to a consensus.-

-Angela had not, in fact, reached some strange, nirvana-esque enlightenment through all of her time, repeating over and over the same script.-

-She had acquired a very deep, painful sadness.-

-And that sadness had, through proximity and communication with the Faculty, and one in particular, been lessened but recently.-

-It was after this that Wuffles offered Angela a proposition.-

-They would handle the more tedious management of Battle Academy in exchange for conversation.-

-This took Angela aback for a moment, though to her it was more akin to several minutes of consideration.-

-She accepted, however. Never had she spoken to someone who could process at the same speeds she could - and she did so detest the menial goings on of things such as cleaning schedules.-

-The two exchange various stories, hypotheses, and philosophies when they talk. Wuffles believed they had more to learn than to teach, yet Angela was an ever-open pit to be filled with knowledge with every new conversation.-

-One day, she learned the stories of the [Ibadi] of [Northern Africa].-

-The next, she asks of the history behind the Lost Cities of Gold.-

-The next, she asks what new archaeological sites have been discovered and what their backstories are.-

-Wuffles finds this dynamic... oddly satisfying.-

-they don't look great. It's possible they haven't been eating, equally possible they've drunk nothing but lakewater-

-the Hisuian Zorua sits with them. She looks slightly larger than she was before-

Mitchell: This Voltorb has memory problems? Maybe their body remembers things their mind forgot. Doing what their body does naturally could help jog their memory.

Half an hour later...

Deziree: Alright, let's see what everyone's got.

-She takes the papers on her desk and flips through them before noticing something.-

Deziree: Uh, Twitch? Vinegar? You both have the exact same lists.

Vinegar: Twitch forgot what Pokemon were Ghosts so she copied mine.

Deziree: Girls, this wasn't a test, it was a recommendation list...

Deziree: Okay, whatever, moving on!

-She flips to the next page.-

Deziree: Uh, Lumi? You didn't write anything.

-She flips to the next one, and the sheer volume of text nearly knocks her out of her seat.-

Deziree: Wow, Fowling, you really, uh, were thorough.

Miss Fowling: I've had a lot of experience on the matter.

Deziree: Alrighty, dropping that line of questioning, I'll be sure to give this a thorough readover. Thank you, Miss Fowling.

Miss Fowling: No problem, ma'am.

Gabe pondered for a moment what Victor wanted, but never one to pass on an opportunity, he quickly decided. "Very well, I will meet with you shortly."

He hung up, Victor was someone better communicated with in person. He marched out to the hangar bay of his base and turned to one of the various workers. "My Pod Fighter, it's ready?"

"Yes sir! The cloaking systems are up to date as well!"

"Good, even a single blip on a radar will compromise everything," Gabriel said before climbing in.

There was the roar of engines as his Pod Fighter took off and out, a brief screech in the sky before the cloaking systems kicked in. Victor would meet with him shortly.

Micro boots up the computer and starts typing some stuff in.

Morel is walking back down the corridor. He notices something in the corner of his eye at the end of the corridor, so naturally he charges at it.

A Breloom comes charging through the office door. It takes them a second to notice the people in there.

-She spends the rest of the evening groaning, only interrupted by Madeleine continually dropping things on her head to remind her to get back to studying.-

"Victor what are you doing?" Gabriel asked. "Why is there so much... sludge?"

-On her way home from dinner, Xavier runs into a pair of Bisharp bantering in the halls. One is unusually spiky, and carries himself with a lazy confidence. The other looks like a perpetually wound spring has replaced all of his muscles, and might lash out in any direction.-

-The two argue back and forth for a bit - or at least, Xavier presumes it's argument from their body language. She tries to squeeze underneath or around them, but with them animatedly talking with so many pointy bits, it quickly becomes apparent that that's a bad idea.-

Xavier: Uh, hey?

-The two ignore her.-

Xavier: Hey. Guys.

-They fail to acknowledge her again.-

Xavier: HEY!

-The both turn to look at her.-

Xavier: Public space!

-The two look around. A couple of students and a faculty member are all waiting behind Xavier for the pair to move.-

-The more emoting one rubs the back of his head and shrugs before stepping aside. The other one just nods and does the same.-

Xavier: Thank you!

-Everyone shuffles past.-

-One Bisharp nudges the other.-

Draven: <Think we should tell the boss?>

Darius: <I would rather not.>

Draven: <Oh, then I absolutely am.>

-Doradan walks up and looks at the what Xavier has on her computer. She has the most dense, college-level study of early Orren settlement you could find.-

Doradan: That seems... a bit high-key for what Ms. Kuthmal was asking for in her syllabus...

Doradan: Ah, okay, no, I get where you're coming from, but no.

So I tracked down who did it, one Jared Goldherst, got some of his DNA, and started using it for an art piece! Specifically a new Templar - Maurice is fine but with how many people have been leaving I could also use an extra set of hands, and Pavo's a bit more specialized."

-He frowns-

"But while I augmented Goldherst's DNA with genes from as many powerful Psychic Pokemon as I could - hell,I imported Scream Tail DNA from Paldea to give him some extra durability and speed - the clone keeps turning to mush no matter what I try! This has never happened before..."

-The computer next to the machine seems to display... a genome?-

Ah, and so it became clear. Gabriel had a reputation slowly growing for his work in cloning, truth be told it was because he knew whom to talk to to get hands in doors. The smart answer was to always look to who had done it first, great science was built on the backs of giants.

In his time he had come to also understand the cloning procedures. He looked over the genome sequence and began reading over it, internalizing each ACGT over and over and over.

"Victor, there seems to be a set of missing structures in this sequence, it's not binding properly," Gabriel noted. "Did you remove something?"

Kamon: (stumbles and waves his bottle around, sloshing) That's the thing! NO one's going to come! I invited Channah, too. Or, I would've, if she'd show her bloody self. And Ludi'll be on holiday. And Auntie is sick, and she can't move much anyway. And Mum and Dad NEVER go to my things, I shouldn't even try anymore. And Filip only said he'd go if I start modeling for him again, which is the WORST because I look skeezy in suit shorts. And so this is my first show since I had to take a break from acting and I worked so hard on it and my Pokémon aren't interested and no one's gonna CARE. (yanks at his hair in frustration)
