Hatty: <Ian and Piku-chan were laughing like a bunch of immature boys, so I slapped some sense into them.>

Kim: "Oh. I see." (She adjusts her glasses.) "I presume they were laughing about Hattrem's scientific name?"

Evelyn: That was exactly it, Kim.

Rookiedee: <Understandable. However, I believe we have much more important manners at hand.> (He turns to Kim.) <Shall we battle?>

Kim: (smirking) "We shall."

Rookiedee: <Very well, then. Just know this— I won't be going easy on you.>

Kim: "Oh... I think you'll be surprised by how easily you'll be defeated." (She turns to Geddy.) "Geddy, what moves do you have?"

Geddy: <Growl, Protect, Baby-Doll Eyes...>

Rookidee: <All non-damaging attacks. This battle will be over before it has even->

Geddy: <-and Sing.>

Rookidee: (suddenly realizes) <SING?!>

Kim: "Indeed it is." (She points ahead.) "Geddy— use Sing!"

(And sing is exactly what Geddy does next— as the familiar opening notes of [Rush]'s "Rivendell" begin to play in the background. Frantically, the Rookidee runs into the trees in an attempt to get away and begins furiously sharpening his claws.)

Geddy: (singing) <Sunlight dances through the breeze

Rookidee: (panicked) <No, no, no, no...! I haven't even gotten a chance to show off my battle strategy yet!>

(Kim, meanwhile, looks up into the trees and notices the Rookidee sharpening his claws and recognizes it within an instant.)

Kim: (to herself) "Hone Claws... I think I know what he's trying to do..."

A friendly [Scottish] man appears wearing the prim and proper Kwan industries pilot's uniform.

Pilot: Aye, ya must be Mr. Descartes. I'm with Kwan Industries and am the personal pilot of Mr. Henry Kwan himself. Madam Priscilla has told me to pick you up. We are to rendezvous with her at her private suite in the Kwan Intercontinental Hotel at Laverre City in Kalos. We'd have taken the Ferrari and drove through the Channel Tunnel but this is much faster and time is of the essence, what with the traffic and all. Anyway, your needs shall be covered by Ms. Priscilla and she is also prepared to compensate you for your time. We have in-flight haggis. Trust me, it's not as bad as everyone tells ya.

Domino's place

The drone reveals a projection of Sphinx, all jittery.

Sphinx: Hello, Domino. Your first task as my apprentice hunter begins soon. The parcel, as you would observe, contains a ball. Unleash its occupant. He will be your most reliable ally in the coming assignment.

The pokéball has a label. It says "Dwayne" and has a stylized [Egyptian] crown on it.

Sphinx: A transport with a set of minions will arrive at midnight tonight. You shall take command of them and will escort a parcel containing precious artifacts I've retrieved personally arriving from the Channel Tunnel. They shall be sent to my private warehouse. You are to ensure that the contents are not seized by anyone. Engage with force only when deemed necessary.

"Perfect!"

He heads for the strip.

"Are the drinks complimentary?"

Domino's Domicile

Domino read over the message then took the ball and rolled it in his hands.

"Great...grunt work. At least I get to boss some people around."

He retrieves a glass of water from his bathroom and throws it on the sleeping Cotton, who wakes up with a shriek.

"Wakey wakey. We got some stuff to takey takey."

Galar Route 2

Kim: "Well, I won't let him use Power Trip that easily! Geddy, keep singing!"

(Geddy does so, and the Rookidee starts to become more and more panicked. Eventually, though, he smirks to himself, then flies forward towards Geddy, with his body glowing in a bright dark light.)

Kim: (suddenly noticing) "Geddy!"

(Geddy promptly stops singing and looks up— only to suddenly be thrown back courtesy of a Hone Claws-Power Trip combo.)

Elton: (panicked) <GEDDY~!>

Motostoke Airport, approaching the Kwan Limo in the Sky

Pilot: The contents of the sky bar and minifridge are all yours to peruse. Fully stocked.

He hands Des a list of really fancy drinks and Diet Croak, with an asterisk saying "the actually good kind, from South of Orre."

Pilot: Ms. Priscilla hopes that some would be to your liking.

Me: Power Trip... A move that increases in power dependent on stat changes... yikes...

Des knocks back a Gunk and Coke as he talks to Priscilla over video conference.

"So, what's the sitch Pris?"

As Ellie fell and tapped out, Ammy sighed a little bit. She should have figured it would come to something like this.

She looked up at the monstrous Centiskorch that the Lycanroc had fallen to, intimidated yet numb. She ran a Pokeball through her fingers before throwing it forth.

As the Absol let her disaster sense pick up how the fight was going to go, she acted on instinct before the attack went through.

Cassandra sighed, recognizing that she would faint before she won. But she was going to have a last stand, dammit!

The red faded, and the realization hit.

This was so far the first fight that Ammy had used more Pokemon than her opponent.

It made her feel a little dirty, but she tried to get past it.

<A 4v3?> Minerva demanded.

"I know, I'm sorry," Ammy defended.

"Don't apologize for a well-fought battle," Kabu comforted.

"4v3?"

"Look, he D-Maxed and I didn't, I think I can get away with a fourth."

Colton shrugged before he stood up.

"Oh, might want to buy some Poke Balls," Ammy interjected.
